A Study On The Influence Of Traditional And Simple Aesthetics On The Evolution Of Chinese Furniture In Ming And Qing Dynasties

Generally,people’s the first impression on modeling is “ complexity or simplicity”,which also serves as the first visually acquired information factor that will have a direct influence on the target audience.And people have preferences and aversion before they get close to the objects spatially.So “Complexity and Simplicity” are critical to the visual experience of the mass audience.However,it doesn’t mean that the complexity or simplicity of objects is just a matter of details in forms,colors,lustre,as well as texture.It will constantly and accordingly change with variation factors like time,space and subject content,for the understanding of complexity and simplicity is also relatively changed.Hence,it is conducive to the profound interpretation of furniture modeling connotations by in-depth study of the combination and variation of the complexity and simplicity guided by different individuals in different periods and times.Chinese art and its design,by historical and spatial dimensions,enriched the connotations of complexity and simplicity not just in form but also the ornament.Besides,for local cultures,it is a conceptually emotional sustenance.The aesthetic of complexity and simplicity in Chinese modeling has been beyond the limitation of the form.It conveys spiritual enlightenment and the inheritance of ideas and concepts.Thus,for the the cognition of Chinese-style furniture design modeling,attentions shall paid not just to the forms,materials,craftsmanship and other direct factors,but also the rituals,spiritual pursuit,as well as social morals.In this paper,for the typical modeling deductions,the modelings of Ming and Qing dynasties are cited for a systematic analysis to illustrate the cultural intrinsic appeal on the tendencies of the complexity and simplicity aesthetics in terms of the traditional Chinese furniture,in further,to demonstrate that how the appeal realized the transformation of modeling style.Thereby,the “Whys and Hows” of modeling structure can be fully interpreted,seeking rational factors and ways for Chinese localization furniture design that are beneficial to the localization growth.
