Research On Cheongsam Clothing In Ladies’ Magazine And Linglong Magazine During The Period Of Republic Of China

The Ladies’ Magazine(1915-1932)and Linglong Magazine(1931-1937)were two representative publications of women’s magazines during the Republic of China period.Their publication dates were different but closely linked,focusing on various aspects of urban women’s lives from 1915 to 1931,with the focus on women’s clothing.At this time,it coincided with the rapidly changing types of women’s clothing.As the mainstream female clothing of this period,the main evolution process,fashion trends,and styling matching information of cheongsam clothing were recorded in two magazines in the form of pictures and text,and most of them were labeled with real character identity information,which has historical certainty and is an important historical material for studying the cheongsam of the Republic of China.The first chapter of this article is the introduction section,which mainly reviews and summarizes the relevant research on the Ladies’ Magazine and Linglong Magazine,the research on cheongsam clothing from the 2010 s to 1930 s of the Republic of China,and the feminist awakening and perspective transformation of human clothing relationship reflected in the evolution of cheongsam clothing in the Republic of China.Starting from Chapter 2,the main text of this article starts with the background and reasons for the development of the Ladies’ Magazine during the Republic of China period.It compares and analyzes the characteristics of the Ladies’ Magazine and Linglong Magazine from different perspectives of the editorial group,overall style,and audience.The third chapter is based on the research of cheongsam clothing information extracted from the original materials of the author’s entire book the Ladies’ Magazine and Linglong Magazine.It analyzes it from the aspects of style,color,and pattern,and summarizes the historical context of the changes in cheongsam clothing during the hybrid publishing period of the Republic of China.On the basis of Chapter 3,Chapter 4 sorts out the matching pieces for the cheongsam,lists their diversity,and presents them visually with creative qualities.The fifth chapter reads from the above research the deeper level of awakening of Chinese women’s consciousness in different historical periods,the evolution of clothing aesthetics,and even the changes of the entire social system.Furthermore,guided by the study of the ancient and modern significance of these cheongsam information,it explores its value in different aspects.The sixth chapter presents the inspiration for modern improvement design of cheongsam accumulated by the author during the research process of this topic,and provides a phased summary of the author’s research in the form of style and renderings of the "Ling long Women" series of improved cheongsam.cheongsam is a symbol of Chinese women and also a symbol of Chinese culture.The constantly changing image of cheongsam women from the Ladies’ Magazine to Linglong Magazine reflects the continuous pace of women’s progress at that time,shaping a positive image of new women in the Republic of China,who were positive,healthy,and both internal and external;This is a cultural inheritance that women today still need to learn and learn from,and it has a positive guiding significance for modern society.
