| Since entering the new development stage, the regional economic gap,as an important embodiment of unbalanced and inadequate development,is one of the long-term problems facing China’s economic development. In this context, how to narrow the regional economic growth gap, promote regional coordinated development, and then achieve common prosperity has become a hot topic.carbon emission constraints, have varying degrees of impact on energy efficiency, industrial transfer, technological innovation and even the economic growth of the whole social economy. In the critical period of comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development and committed to achieving common prosperity and high-quality development, under the background of carbon emission constraints, how to make use of the impact of carbon constraints on regional economic growth gap to promote common prosperity? it is the path exploration to promote common prosperity in the new development stage.Reviewing the relevant research, the existing literature has not carried out the research on China’s regional economic growth gap from the perspective of carbon emission constraints.in view of this, this thesis puts carbon emission constraints and regional economic growth gap in a unified analysis framework.First of all,on the basis of defining the concepts of carbon emissions, carbon constraints and regional economic growth gap, this thesis analyzes the inherent logic and mechanism of the impact of carbon emission constraints on regional economic growth gap.Secondly, based on the measurement of carbon emissions, carbon emission constraints and regional economic growth gap indicators, the temporal evolution and spatial distribution characteristics of current regional carbon emission constraints and regional economic growth gap in China are analyzed. In addition, based on the perspective of carbon constraint intensity quantification and carbon constraint policy evaluation, combined with linear regression model and double difference model, this thesis verifies the relationship and heterogeneity between carbon emission constraints and regional economic growth gap. Finally, starting from the behavior of the main body of the market economy, this thesis discusses the transmission mechanism of carbon emission constraints on the gap of regional economic growth from the perspective of supply and demand. The results show that:(1)the growth rate of carbon emissions in China is gradually decreasing, and the overall level of carbon constraints shows an upward trend, showing obvious regional heterogeneity distribution characteristics, and strongly constrained provinces are mainly distributed in the central and southern regions. The regional economic growth gap is mainly manifested in that the inter-provincial economic gap shows a continuous expanding trend. The gap of economic growth between the eastern, central and western regions is characterized by "expanding first and then shrinking".The differentiation of economic growth between the north and the south is obvious, and the gap is increasing day by day.(2)carbon emission constraints significantly promote regional economic growth, but have a significant restraining effect on regional economic growth gap.The specific performance is as follows: with every 1unit increase in the level of carbon emission constraints, the level of regional economic growth increases by 0.13 units, and the gap reduces by 0.43 units, that is,the stronger the carbon emission constraints, the less balanced the regional economic development.(3)the impact of carbon emission constraints on regional economic growth gap has obvious regional heterogeneity. The improvement of carbon emission constraints in the eastern and central regions suppresses the regional economic growth gap,but the inhibitory effect is not obvious in the western region. In addition, the increase of the intensity of carbon emission constraints is not conducive to narrowing the income gap between urban and rural areas.(4)through the mechanism test,it is found that on the supply side, there is an intermediary transmission mechanism of industrial structure adjustment, technological innovation and human capital between carbon emission constraints and regional economic growth gap.In terms of demand, there is an intermediary transmission mechanism of government financial support and energy consumption substitution between carbon emission constraints and regional economic growth gap.In addition, the internal mechanism of the impact of carbon trading pilot policy on regional economic growth gap is consistent with the perspective of quantitative intensity, which proves the robustness of the results.By discussing the impact of carbon emission constraints on regional economic growth gap and its implementation characteristics, this study provides theoretical reference for explaining the relationship and influence mechanism between carbon emission constraints and regional economic growth disparity. At the same time,it provides some experience and reference for promoting regional coordinated and high-quality development. |
