Under the guidance of the policy of inheritance and revival of Chinese culture,various industries have responded one after another,and the furniture industry is no exception.Furniture is a product that children come into contact with more in their daily life.It gives children’s furniture a cultural concept and creates a good cultural atmosphere,which can enhance children’s cultural identity.In addition,as the main users of children’s furniture,children’s demands are often not paid attention to and attention.At present,children’s furniture is often developed and designed based on the aesthetic perspective of adults,which weakens the participation of children.Therefore,this thesis will take the children’s vision as the base point and take the primary school-aged children as the main research objects to study the children’s opinions and expectations on Chinese-style children’s furniture.Through market research,we analyze the development status of similar products of children’s furniture and the application of Chinese elements in various fields.The product demand and preference for Chinese-style children’s room furniture from the perspective of children are obtained through questionnaire survey,observation,interview,and painting expression,and parents’ consumption preference is taken as an auxiliary reference.Using the AHP analytic hierarchy process to analyze the product demand weight of the acquired demand points,get the product function priority ranking,which is used for the later design export.Based on the characteristics of children’s cognitive development,the Chinese element symbols are graded,and the design methods of Chinese elements in children’s furniture are proposed.Finally,according to the user demand data,the user demand is transformed into the design,and the two Chinese elements of panda and Tiananmen are used to carry out the design practice and evaluation of Chinese-themed children’s room furniture,and provide a design demonstration for the design of Chinese-style children’s room furniture.The main findings are as follows:(1)Children’s furniture in the market is seriously homogenized in terms of shape and function,without forming a unique brand style,and lack of local style.The commonality is mainly reflected in: mostly modern and simple style,with cartoon interesting elements in the furniture part,wood material as the main material,metal,plastic,fabric soft bag as the auxiliary material,the color is mostly dark log color and light log Color matching,or light log color with low-purity-high-brightness colors;study desks and chairs are mostly adjustable,and children’s beds are integrated and combined structures,often using basic functional modules to achieve personalized matching,and many wardrobes It is a closed structure,equipped with hanging clothes and partition storage functions.The application of Chinese elements is mainly manifested in the use of Chinese element ontology or related related elements to complete the design expression through color matching and modeling reconstruction.(2)From the perspective of children,boys and girls have significant differences in their preferences for Chinese elements.Boys prefer dragon,phoenix,and panda,while girls prefer panda,phoenix,and cheongsam.Children’s favorite element,and tends to be figurative.Through the children’s questionnaire survey,it was found that children like the table top rotatable study table,the middle-high bed with leisure and entertainment area,the cartoon-style study chair,and the open wardrobe.Through children’s interviews and analysis of paintings,it is concluded that children’s expression of Chinese elements in children’s furniture design is mainly expressed in partial plane decoration or overall shape design,and most of them are in the form of cute cartoons.In the comprehensive weight ranking of learning desks and chairs,children’s beds,and children’s wardrobes,learning desks and chairs tend to have a comfortable learning environment,spacious operating space,and convenient access to items,while children’s beds tend to be safe,comfortable,and capable of storage.Demand,children’s wardrobes tend to have reasonable and adjustable partition spacing,various drawer sizes,and spacious clothes hanging space.(3)According to the children’s cognitive horizon,the theory of Chinese element symbol classification is proposed,and the classification evolution of Chinese elements from figurative to abstract is divided into four stages,namely primary figurative form,cartoon anthropomorphism,etc.The design factors that can be extracted at each stage gradually decrease.From children’s paintings,it can be found that children’s design and expression of Chinese elements are mainly in the form of cartoon anthropomorphism.
