In recent years,in order to better respond to global climate change and demonstrate the responsibility and responsibility of a major country,the President Xi Jinping said at the United Nations General Assembly on September 22,2020 that China will strive to reach the "carbon peak" by2030 and achieve the goal of "carbon neutrality" by 2060.This has pointed out the direction and established the goal for the low-carbon green transformation of Chinese enterprises in the future,to achieve sustainable development and promote the construction of ecological civilization.The coal industry is a pillar industry that supports the development of national economy and social economy,and is also an important department for the state to monitor and control environmental quality.The implementation of "carbon neutrality" not only brings new opportunities for the traditional coal industry,but also brings new challenges.On the basis of signal transmission theory,Porter hypothesis,social reputation theory and stakeholder theory,This thesis consulted and combed a large number of relevant literatures,discussed the possible transformation path of coal enterprises and the impact on financial performance,and analyzed the impact mechanism of green transformation of coal enterprises.Then,according to the ranking of coal industry and the availability of enterprise information data,Shaanxi coal industry is selected as the research object,and case analysis is applied based on the annual report of Shaanxi coal industry from 2014 to 2021,social responsibility report,relevant data of statistics Bureau and public data of related industries,as well as the theoretical analysis above.This thesis analyzes the transformation path and effect of Shanxi coal industry and the change of financial performance before and after the transformation.This thesis believes that the green transformation of Shaanxi coal industry is driven by internal and external factors,and enterprises promote the growth of financial performance through four paths: environmental compliance affects performance,business optimization affects performance,technological innovation affects performance and social reputation affects performance.Through the analysis of the transformation path of Shaanxi coal industry and the financial performance before and after the transformation,it is found that the impact of green transformation on the financial performance of enterprises has the characteristics of stages.In the early stage of green transformation,the transformation measures will lead to the increase of enterprise costs and the decrease of profits,which will have a negative impact on financial performance.In the middle stage of green transformation,the effect brought by the transformation gradually appeared,and the financial performance fluctuated better;In the later stage of green transformation,the transformation tends to mature and has a more obvious positive impact on financial performance.
