Green development requires the realization of economic and social development within the ecological threshold, and its goal is to realize the coordinated development of economy, society and environment. The Yangtze River Economic Belt,as an important engine to promote high-quality development of China in the new era, vigorously promotes the green development in recent years, and has made remarkable achievements. The city is the main promoter to realize the green development, and development of the city is to promote the social welfare level. The performance of Ecological Welfare is a comprehensive index which takes economy, ecological environment and society into account, and can truly measure the urban green development level. At present, the research on ecological welfare performance has achieved fruitful results in terms of concept connotation, measurement and analysis of influencing factors, among which the measurement on the performance of ecological welfare mainly focuses on the national and regional levels, but there are few studies on the measurement of urban level, and the analysis of regional ecological welfare performance is mostly confined to the comparison of cross-sectional data. Therefore, the paper focuses on the ecological welfare performance of 108 cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and analyzes its evolution characteristics from the perspective of space and time. And through the construction of spatial model for analysis of the impact factors, hoping to make up for the shortcomings of existing research. On the basis of defining the concept of ecological welfare performance, this paper synthesizes material conservation principle, entropy law, sustainable development theory and welfare economic theory,to provide theoretical support for the study of the performance of ecological welfare in the Yangtze River Economic Belt;and reduces the dimension by entropy method, then selects the super-efficient SBM model with undesired output to calculate the urban ecological welfare performance of the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2004 to2019.This paper explores the spatial pattern of urban ecological welfare performance and analyzes its spatial correlation with ESDA analysis method. Finally, the impacts of economic openness, input of science and technology, economic scale, industrial structure and urban congestion on the regional ecological welfare performance are analyzed by constructing the spatial Dubin model. The main conclusions are as follows: the overall ecological welfare performance is not high but it shows an upward trend;the ecological welfare performance value of cities in the region fluctuates greatly, and the difference between cities is obvious, which is "higher in east than in west";the results of ESDA analysis show that there is a significant spatial correlation between urban ecological welfare performance of the Yangtze River Economic Belt;and the results of spatial Dubin model show that economic openness, the input of technology and economic scale can promote the performance of ecological welfare, however, industrial structure and urban congestion have a restraining effect on the performance of ecological welfare.Based on this, the paper holds that the Yangtze River Economic Belt should actively promote the construction of resource-saving society, further strengthen the coordinated governance of regional environment, and the city should formulate corresponding social development policies according to its development situation.
