Study On Measurement And Influencing Factors Of Urban Eco-Efficiency In The Yellow River Basin

In recent years,the Yellow River Basin has witnessed rapid development of social economy and urbanization.However,due to the long-term "extensive" development mode,which unilaterally emphasizes economic growth and neglects of ecological protection,resulting in serious water shortage,ecological environment deterioration and traffic congestion,the existing development mode cannot be sustained.Factors of production are concentrated in central cities,with "big city diseases" coexisting with the lack of growth momentum of small and medium-sized cities.Then,it is urgent to improve urban ecological efficiency and achieve green development of economic growth mode.In the city level of Yellow River Basin,the temporal and spatial differences of eco-efficiency were analyzed,the theoretical research on the effect of urban scale on ecological efficiency was expanded,the analysis of the effect of urban scale on ecological efficiency was abundant.It provides useful ideas for promoting the high quality development of the Yellow River Basin.Firstly,with the help of ecosystem theory,circular economy theory and sustainable development theory,the actual situation of urban ecological environment was explored from the perspectives of water energy,mineral resources,green area of parks and economic society.Based on the sample data of 61 cities along the Yellow River Basin from 2004 to2020,the undesired output SBM model,Thile index,kernel density analysis and comparative analysis methods were used to measure and analyze the urban eco-efficiency level and spatio-temporal heterogeneity in the Yellow River Basin.The effect mechanism of urban eco-efficiency was much accounted of influencing factors in the Yellow River Basin.The SDM model is constructed to explore the effects of variables such as urban size,industrial structure,financial development,foreign direct investment,government expenditure and low carbon potential on the urban ecological efficiency of the Yellow River Basin.Finally,according to the theoretical and empirical analysis results give specific advice,such as coordinated ecological governance,differentiated urban construction,optimization of industrial structure,improvement of the quality of foreign investment and strengthening of environmental regulations.Through research,this paper found that:(1)The Yellow River Basin has fragile ecological environment,shortage of water resources and enrichment of mineral resources.Pollutant discharge has decreased,and green space in parks has continued to grow.Urbanization has achieved good results,but the gap between urban and rural residents has widened.(2)2004-2020,the level of urban ecological efficiency has steadily improved,and the downstream is much higher than the middle and upper reaches.The ecological efficiency showed a "high-high" and "low-low" aggregation effect in space,with the high efficiency area gathering downstream and the low efficiency area transferring upstream.(3)The concentration degree of urban ecological efficiency in the Yellow River Basin increased,and the spatial distribution changed from multi-core to strip and then to sheet.The regional differences of eco-efficiency are decreasing continuously.The decomposition results of regional differences show that the differences mainly come from within the region.(4)2004-2020,urban scale expansion promotes the improvement of ecological efficiency,while inhibits the improvement of ecological efficiency of surrounding areas in the Yellow River basin.Industrial structure optimization can’t promote the improvement of ecological efficiency level,but the industrial structure had promotes the improvement of ecological efficiency of surrounding areas in the Yellow River Basin.The foreign direct investment plays a significant role in promoting urban ecological efficiency in downstream areas.The financial development has a significant promoting effect on the eco-efficiency in the downstream area,but has no significant effect on the eco-efficiency in the upper and middle areas.The government expenditure and low carbon potential can significantly promote the ecological efficiency of the whole basin and the upper,middle and lower reaches.Some suggestions are put forward for improving the urban ecological efficiency,according to the main analysis conclusions and natural resources,ecological environment development characteristics in the Yellow River Basin.Strengthen the linkage effect of urban opening and promote the coordinated ecological and environmental governance along the Yellow River Basin.Based on the comparative advantages of the region and the carrying capacity of resources and environment,it guides the implementation of differentiated city construction along the Yellow River Basin.Adapt to changes in resource endowments,the optimization upgrading of industrial structure has been promoted along the Yellow River Basin.Pay attention to the quality of foreign investment,foreign investment has been used rationally along the Yellow River Basin.According to the actual situation of ecological environment,strict environmental regulation policies should be formulated.
