Inventory plays a key role in the process of production and management of enterprises.For manufacturing enterprises,raw material inventory is the focus of operation management.Efficient management of raw material inventory can coordinate the imbalance between supply and production,and can also help enterprises reduce the pressure brought by rapid market changes and achieve the firm’s sound operation objectives.In recent years,in the face of increasingly intensified market competition,diversified customer demand,continuous increase of costs and compressed profit space,enterprises urgently need to solve the problem is to reduce the inventory cost at the same time,how to ensure the continuity of production,reduce inventory management pressure and timely delivery of high-quality services and products.This paper takes D Company as the research object.Based on the actual production and operation of the company,this paper analyzes the existing problems in raw material inventory management and finds that the causes mainly focus on raw material classification and inventory control.First of all,in view of the extensive raw material classification problem of D company,various factors affecting the classification of raw materials were comprehensively considered,and the raw material classification index system was established based on Kraljic matrix.The fuzzy C-means clustering algorithm optimized by particle swarm optimization was used to classify raw materials by multiple indexes and verify the effectiveness of the results,thus making the classification management of raw materials of D company more precise and effective.Secondly,in view of D company’s over-reliance on experience in ordering,undiversified inventory control methods and other problems,the optimization strategy of inventory control was formulated based on demand analysis.The demand change coefficient is introduced as the basis for determining whether the demand for raw materials is stable.Based on the classification results,differentiated inventory control strategies are formulated for different kinds of raw materials.Strategic raw materials with stable demand adopt(R,Q)management strategy,bottleneck and leverage raw materials adopt(T,R,S)management strategy,and general raw materials adopt(T,S)management strategy.Static inventory control strategy is adopted to manage raw materials with non-stationary demand.Finally,the inventory control model is established and the data is selected for example analysis,and the effectiveness of the model is discussed.Based on the actual situation,aiming at the existing problems of D company in the management of raw material inventory,this paper respectively puts forward the inventory classification improvement method and inventory control optimization plan,which can reduce the inventory level of raw materials and speed up the inventory turnover on the premise of meeting the production needs of orders,so as to effectively reduce the total inventory cost.At the same time,these improvements also reduce the workload of inventory management personnel,improve the work efficiency,and provide a strong guarantee for D company in the competition in the industry.
