Research On The Design Practice Of Zhuxian Town New Year Wood Plank Picture In Men’s Wear

As a folk handicraft in Kaifeng City,Zhuxian New Year wood-plank pictures were born in the Northern Song Dynasty a thousand years ago and reached their peak in the Ming and Qing dynasties.With a long history,profound cultural deposits and unique artistic style,it is the treasure of folk art in the Central Plains.The wood-plank New Year pictures in Zhuxian Town are bright and colorful,with traditional themes,mostly folk myths and legends,opera figures and heroes loved and admired by the people.They fully show the simple spiritual and cultural heritage of the Central Plains people,carry the distinctive artistic characteristics of the Central Plains.This paper aims to study the design practice of the elements of Zhuxian New Year wood-plank pictures in men’s clothing.In the early stage,through a field trip to Zhuxian Town in Kaifeng,a large number of materials and literature review and field research were conducted on the historical origin,development course,subject content,production process and art form of the wood-plank New Year pictures,and the aesthetic style and artistic characteristics of the wood-plank New Year pictures in Zhuxian Town were analyzed and summarized.Then,on this basis,it explores the feasibility of applying Zhuxian Town New Year wood-plank pictures in men’s wear.Combined with the trend of modern men’s wear design,it studies and analyzes the design methods of the integration of Zhuxian Town New Year wood-plank pictures with men’s wear and fashion transformation from the aspects of pattern design,pattern layout design,etc.Finally,under the guidance of theory,the series design practice,analysis and adjustment are carried out.This paper takes the classic characters and story scenes of the New Year wood-plank pictures in Zhuxian Town as the starting point,selects Nian Nian Yu,horse whip and King Firewood cart as the inspiration source,extracts and re-designs the composition,lines,and then combines them with the New Year picture technology,using the thermal transfer printing technology,three-dimensional stamping embroidery and other clothing fabric reconstruction methods.It embodies the three-dimensional sense of Zhuxian New Year wood-plank pictures and is flexibly applied in six sets of garments,aiming to provide certain reference for the inheritance of traditional intangible cultural heritage handicraft and innovation in the field of design.
