| In the process of human economic and social development,the global environment has been severely damaged.In 2020,our government first proposed the concepts of "carbon peaking" and "carbon neutral" as strategic goals for green development in stages,striving to achieve We aim to achieve "carbon peak" by 2030 and "carbon neutral" by 2060.Under the new development concept of green economy and sustainable development,the government has introduced a series of environmental protection policies and set green standards related to the production and operation of enterprises to strengthen the supervision of environmental protection.The public is also gradually aware of the increasingly severe living environment,green awareness of environmental protection has been strengthened,and the green products of enterprises have shown more and more significant preference.Faced with the pressure from the government,the public and partners,companies need to coordinate internal resource allocation and develop reasonable strategies to respond to the environmental protection needs of all parties.Green innovation is seen as an important strategy for environmental protection,and the results of green innovation reflect a company’s commitment to play an active role in environmental protection.Increasingly,companies are looking at green innovation as one of their sources of competitive advantage and are actively investing in innovation to achieve sustainable growth.Green innovation is used as a means to reduce negative environmental impacts,enhance corporate competitiveness,and is consistent with current and future environmental needs and corporate economic goals.Thus,it is clear that green innovation is important for achieving sustainable environmental and economic development.In recent years,academic research on green innovation performance has increased,but there is still a lack of systematic and comprehensive understanding of green innovation performance in existing studies.As for the research on the drivers of green innovation performance,the existing literature is mostly from a single theoretical perspective,focusing on the role of individual or a few factors on green innovation performance.Although these theoretical studies can provide some insight into the improvement of green innovation performance,they still have shortcomings.The improvement of green innovation performance is a complex process that is influenced by multiple factors,and it is difficult to explain the variability of the level of green innovation performance among enterprises by examining the net effects of independent and dependent variables using traditional regression research methods alone.There is a lack of research on the factors influencing green innovation performance from a holistic perspective and the interaction between various factors,and a lack of examination of the complex relationship between multiple antecedent conditions and green innovation performance.Based on this,this dissertation will be based on the combing of previous research successes,clarifying the concept of green innovation performance and examining the green innovation performance drivers.The research object of this thesis is the manufacturing industry,and the green innovation performance drivers are investigated.Based on the construct theory,institutional theory,resource conservation theory,and higher order theory,variables are selected at three levels of "environment-resource-strategy",and external environmental pressure is divided into environmental regulation,market pressure,and competitive pressure,while redundant resources are selected at the resource level and managers’ environmental awareness is selected at the strategy level.In total,five antecedent variables were selected.A total of 231 sample cases were analyzed by fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis(fs QCA).Based on the histological perspective,the mechanism of causal complexity of green innovation performance was explored,and the impact of different histological paths on green innovation performance was explored.The results show that,first,high green innovation performance of firms is caused by a combination of multiple factors,and the path that causes firms’ choice of green innovation performance is not the only one.Second,there are five different grouping paths that cause high green innovation performance,two of which are characterized by neutral alignment.The paths of high green innovation performance can be categorized into three types,such as resource-pull,environment-driven,and pressure-responsive.After discussing the above findings,the third one is the asymmetry of high and non-high green innovation performance paths,that is,"high green innovation performance" and "non-high green innovation performance" are not either/or.On the basis of the above,this thesis clarifies the connotation of green innovation performance,on the one hand,based on the conformation theory,institutional theory,resource conservation theory and higher order theory,and on the other hand,explores the antecedent conditions driving green innovation performance and the multiple linkages among different drivers at three levels of "environment-resource-strategy".This thesis analyzes the core and edge conditions and their pathways that promote and inhibit green innovation performance,which enriches the theoretical results of green innovation performance and extends and deepens the conformational theory.On the other hand,this thesis has some reference value for driving manufacturing enterprises to improve green innovation performance,optimize government environmental policies,and promote sustainable economic and social development. |
