| The position of the global value chain of China’s manufacturing industry requires manufacturing enterprises to achieve transformation and upgrading through technological innovation. At present, the economic performance of manufacturing upgrading has been initially shown. However, with the acceleration of industrialization, the environmental problems facing China are becoming increasingly serious, and the public attention and supervision of environmental problems are also becoming increasingly strengthened. In recent years, the state has promulgated a series of measures to strengthen environmental regulation to promote high-quality and sustainable economic development.Under the formal environmental regulation of the government and the informal environmental regulation of the public, manufacturing enterprises must realize industrial upgrading through green technology innovation. This thesis adopts the game analysis and empirical research method to study the impact of formal environmental regulation(including command control and market incentive)and informal environmental regulation on the economic upgrading and environmental upgrading, clarify the influence path, which is of great significance for deepening the relevant research and the successful upgrading of the manufacturing industry.Firstly, based on the theory of global value chain upgrading, externality theory and stakeholder theory, this thesis constructs five game models between environmental regulation and enterprise investment upgrading, environmental regulation and enterprise innovation, and enterprise innovation and enterprise investment upgrading from the perspective of micro enterprises. It is found that green technology innovation, innovation cost, capital constraints and other factors have a significant impact on the process of environmental regulation affecting the performance of manufacturing upgrading. Then build an empirical model based on the research assumptions, and the panel data of 30 provinces from 2007-2018 was adopted to test the direct effect of environmental regulation on the performance of manufacturing upgrading, the intermediary role of green technology innovation and the adjustment role of innovation cost and green financial support.Research found that command control, market incentive and informal environmental regulation can effectively improve the manufacturing economic and environmental upgrading performance, and all three types of environmental regulations can promote enterprises to increase their investment in green technology innovation, improve the production process, actively reduce pollutants emissions, and effectively improve the manufacturing economic and environmental upgrading performance. At the same time, innovation cost and green financial support for different types of environmental regulation through green technology innovation affects the manufacturing economy and environmental upgrading of performance plays a two-way adjustment role, innovation cost to inhibit the negative adjustment of enterprise innovation and upgrading, green financial support can effectively reduce the pressure of innovation cost, play a positive adjustment role. Finally, according to the results of theoretical and empirical analysis,it is proposed that the government should improve the environmental regulation and market trading system, attach importance to the supervision role of informal environmental regulation on behalf of the masses, and attach importance to the leading role of talents in the green technology innovation and upgrading process of enterprises,so as to promote the improvement of the economic and environmental upgrading performance of the manufacturing industry. |
