A Study On The Impact Of Personal Characteristics Of Chinese Provincial Government Officials On Environmental Pollution Control

Environmental issues have always been the focus of attention of countries around the world,and global warming,energy scarcity,air pollution and species extinction threaten the living environment of human beings at all times.With the rapid economic development,local governments have concentrated their efforts on economic development,and many ecological problems have begun to appear,especially environmental pollution,which is a major obstacle to the sustainable development of China’s economy.Therefore,by studying the impact of the personal characteristics of the personal characteristics of China’s provincial government officials on environmental pollution control,it is helpful to reasonably and effectively guide governments at all levels to correctly handle the relationship between economic development and environmental governance,and effectively alleviate the dilemma of environmental pollution control.Based on the research of scholars at home and abroad,this paper explores the impact of provincial government officials with different characteristics on environmental pollution control from the perspective of personal characteristics and combined with China’s environmental characteristics.This paper first analyzes the theories of environmental pollution control,externalities and collaborative governance,and expounds the overall framework of environmental pollution control,that is,the impact of personal characteristics on environmental pollution control.Secondly,the analysis of different personal characteristics explores the impact of provincial government officials with different characteristics on environmental pollution control.At the same time,taking the panel data of the personal characteristics of Chinese provincial government officials from 2011 to 2020 as a research sample,it is proposed that the characteristics of age,length of service,and whether or not to be promoted all affect the level of environmental pollution control to varying degrees.Then,by dividing the research sample into two categories,high and low environmental pollution level,the impact of the personal characteristics of the chief political officials of provincial governments with different levels of environmental pollution control on environmental pollution control is revealed,and at the same time,the research sample is divided into eastern,central and western parts according to the difference in economic development level,and the impact of the personal characteristics of the personal characteristics of the chief political officials in regions with different levels of economic development on environmental pollution control is deeply studied.Finally,based on empirical research,the theoretical expectations are supported,and some policy suggestions are put forward on this basis.The main conclusions of this study are as follows: First,there are also differences in the impact of provincial government officials with different personal characteristics on environmental pollution control in their jurisdiction.Second,the age characteristics of provincial government officials showed a significant negative correlation with the impact on environmental pollution control.Whether the promotion characteristics are significantly negatively correlated with the level of environmental pollution control;The characteristics of length of service showed a significant negative correlation with environmental pollution control,while whether or not they were in the second term showed a positive correlation with environmental pollution control.Third,economic development can not be at the cost of destroying the ecology,ecology itself is the economy,protecting the ecology is to develop productive forces,to implement the new development concept,we must stand on the height of harmonious coexistence between man and nature to plan economic and social development,adhere to the basic national policy of saving resources and protecting the environment,take the environmental pollution control situation as an important basis for the performance evaluation of the provincial government officials,and promote the continuous improvement of the ecological environment.
