| Under the pressure of climate deterioration,China,as the country with the highest carbon emissions,is in full swing to meet the "double carbon" standard. When the carbon reduction potential of the manufacturing industry has been fully explored,it is urgent to find new carbon reduction drivers. As a major contributor of economic growth, the service industry is of great value in exploring the impact of energy saving and emission reduction, and is of great significance to China’s low-carbon economic transformation.Since the new stage,China’s outward foreign direct investment(OFDI)have been thriving and have had an important impact on China’s economic and social development, especially the transformation and upgrading of the services. At the same time, the study of OFDI on the development of China’s low-carbon economy has become more profound, providing more directions for the low-carbon development of industries. In the process of deep integration of the service industry and globalization, green and low-carbon transformation is a necessary path.As an important tool for obtaining advanced technologies and resources from abroad, what is the impact of OFDI on carbon emissions of the service industry? Can OFDI effectively promote the low-carbon transformation of China’s service industry? This has certain research significance for China to find a new key point for carbon emission reduction and lowcarbon transition of service industry.Based on this, this paper focuses on the impact of OFDI on the carbon emission of service industry in China from the perspective of service industry.Firstly, through the analysis and summary of related literature, the influence relationship between the two is sorted out;secondly, the characteristics of OFDI and service industry carbon emissions are outlined through the description of the current situation;then, through the analysis of related basic theories, the influence mechanism and channels of OFDI on service sector carbon emissions are constructed;finally, with the help of threshold, spatial measures and other models,we examine the carbon emission effects of OFDI in China’s national service industry through four channels: economic scale expansion, technological level progress, industrial structure upgrading and factor market distortion. We also selected threshold variables such as human capital and economic development level to examine the impact of OFDI on carbon emissions in China’s service industry. In addition, the spatial spillover effect is also analyzed.Through the above study, the following conclusions are obtained:(1)China’s OFDI increases the carbon emissions of service industries in home countries;(2)the test by channel finds that the expansion of economies of scale and factor market distortion have a significant strengthening effect on the carbon emissions of service industries from OFDI,while technological progress and industrial structure upgrading do not have a significant inhibiting effect on the carbon emissions of service industries from OFDI;(3)there is a double threshold effect of human capital and economic development level on the impact of OFDI on carbon emissions of service industry respectively;(4)OFDI has a significant spatial spillover effect and raises the level of carbon emissions of service industry in neighboring regions;(5)there are regional differences and time differences in the impact of OFDI on carbon emissions of service industry. Finally, this paper puts forward corresponding measures and suggestions on how to reduce carbon emissions in service industry, bring into play the carbon emission reduction effect of OFDI,and promote the low-carbon transformation of China’s service industry. |
