As a responsible major country,China has been actively practicing to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and making its own contribution to climate change and environmental issues. In order to better achieve China’s carbon emission reduction goals and achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality commitments within the expected time, scientific identification of the influencing factors of carbon dioxide emissions is the basis for clarifying the emission reduction path, and it is also the basic issue that must be solved to promote the current low-carbon transformation.Research on CO2 emissions will play a crucial role in the formulation of specific energy conservation and emission reduction policies in China.Based on the model selecting the panel data of 30 provinces in China for a total of16 years from 2005 to 2020,the results show that China’s carbon dioxide emissions are still in the growth stage, but since 2012,the growth rate of carbon dioxide emissions has gradually slowed down, and China’s carbon dioxide emissions have been significantly controlled. At the same time,China’s carbon dioxide emissions are generally relatively high in the central part and relatively low in the west.Second, the factors affecting carbon dioxide emissions will be specifically decomposed, and a relatively comprehensive and representative index covering population, economy and technology will be constructed, including: population, urbanization rate, per capita GDP,energy intensity and industrial structure. In this paper, the empirical analysis of fixed-effect panel quantile regression is used to divide China into high, medium and low carbon dioxide emission zones, and clarify the influence of influencing factors of China’s carbon dioxide emissions on China’s carbon dioxide emissions. The results show that the impact of the five indicators selected in this paper on carbon dioxide emissions is positive, and the impact degree is: energy intensity, population, per capita GDP,urbanization rate, and industrial structure.Based on the above analysis results, this paper puts forward relevant policy suggestions from both overall and regional aspects, and provides suggestions for China to achieve low-carbon goals. |
