Research On The Application Of Gothic Architectural Elements In Simple Style Clothing Design

Clothing and architecture belong to the same category of plastic arts and have long maintained close interconnection.The forms,elements,and styles of architecture have always been an important source of inspiration for the shape and expression of clothing.As a great crystallization of medieval European culture and art,Gothic architecture is not only famous for its exquisite skills but also for its slender shapes,rich colors,elaborate decorations,and other architectural elements that have had a profound impact on the development of costume art.The combination of Gothic architecture and simple style clothing breaks the aesthetic limitations brought by the traditional Gothic clothing style and is a new form of Gothic style born from the influence of minimalism and minimalist style,as well as a new trend of minimalist clothing evolving in modern times.The article researches the literature on Gothic architectural elements and simple style clothing respectively,elaborates their different development processes and conceptual features,analyzes the commonality between architecture and clothing in terms of spatial shape and aesthetic function through relevant design cases,and provides a theoretical basis for the feasibility study of combining the two.Secondly,this paper extracts and organizes the geometric shape,religious color and texture decoration of Gothic architectural elements,combines the principles of minimalist design to re-decompose the architectural elements,and summarizes five design skills:morphological mimicry,pattern reproduction,structural reorganization,exaggerated deformation and element reduction.Then,based on the application of the skills,the specific expression of Gothic architectural elements in the contemporary simple style clothing modeling,color,fabric and technology elements are explored in depth to realize the design transformation of architectural elements and clothing elements.According to the above research,this paper summarizes the feasible methods of applying Gothic architectural elements to minimalist clothing design,using skills such as bracing,deconstruction,replication,and reduction to complete the design practice of this thesis,injecting Gothic architectural elements into new forms of expression.The organic integration of multiple arts is the eternal theme for creating a fashion and culture industry with connotation and heritage.This paper hopes to extend the new way of combining architecture and clothing through the systematic inductive analysis of Gothic architectural elements,to continue the good momentum of the diversified development of simple style clothing,and also to inspire aesthetic reflection on the connotations of modern clothing design under the influence of architectural art.
