Our country is in a new stage of development.Digital economy has become a key driver to improve the quality and efficiency of social development. It has deeply integrated into all kinds of social activities. The application of big data, cloud computing and other emerging digital technologies in the energy system can not only save energy, reduce emissions and improve energy efficiency, but also stimulate the technological innovation of decarbonizing and negative carbon,so that digitalization and greening can complement each other. The driving effect of digital economy in regional development is becoming more and more significant. It is a key breakthrough to promote low-carbon technology innovation and accelerate low-carbon industrial transformation, and also an important opportunity for the country to achieve the "double carbon" goal and the region to achieve low-carbon development. Therefore,it is necessary to explore the influence relationship and action path between digital economy and regional carbon emissions.Based on the historical background of digital power and national "dual carbon" goal, this paper takes 30 provinces from 2011 to 2020 as research samples, uses entropy method to build a digital economy measurement system, and systematically analyzes the spatial-temporal evolution characteristics of digital economy level and carbon emissions in each province.Explore the realization of low-carbon transition in the new development stage of all regions, and further enrich the theoretical framework of digital economy and carbon emissions. The results show that:(1)the development of digital economy and regional carbon emissions have significant differences in the spatial and temporal evolution, and the development process and status of the eastern and western digital economy show clear regional differences.(2)Digital economy can significantly inhibit the growth of regional carbon emissions, and the development of digital economy can influence regional carbon emissions by using industrial structure and total factor productivity as the intermediary transmission.(3)The threshold effect analysis shows that the digital economy has a nonlinear impact on carbon emissions. The transformation and upgrading of industrial structure can also promote the formation of the inverted U-shaped inflection point in advance, which confirms that the relationship between digital economy development and carbon emission also follows the law of environmental Kuznets Curve(EKC)in the specific context of China.(4)The inhibition effect of digital economy development on carbon emission is different in different regions, and the inhibition effect on the eastern region is the greatest.Based on the above research, suggestions are put forward as follows:(1)Accelerate the development of digital economy to promote carbon emission reduction, seize the opportunities of digital development, vigorously promote the development of digital economy, give full play to the carbon emission reduction effect of digital economy, build a digital environmental collaborative governance network, and help realize the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality.(2)Attach importance to the construction of digital infrastructure, expand the digital industry integration mode, and fully release the digital dividend. At the same time, rely on new digital technology to reduce fossil energy consumption, promote industrial transformation and upgrading, research and develop new energy and new technology, and promote the regional development to green and low-carbon transformation;(3)Different regions accurately grasp their own positioning, dynamically adjust industrial layout, reduce the development gap between regions, give full play to the advantages of the digital economy in industrial structure optimization, energy consumption and efficiency improvement, and promote green and low-carbon development according to local conditions.
