A Study On Aesthetic Characteristics Of Bronze Mirrors In Warring States

The warring States period is an important development period of our country.In this period,with social change,scientific and technological leap,and rapid economic development,bronze casting technology also developed rapidly.The traditional bronze casting process combined with the new process made the bronze mirror reach a new height,and a large number of fine bronze mirror objects emerged.At the same time,the collapse of rites and music,the contention of a hundred schools of thought and the popularity of natural science also contributed to the popularity of bronze mirrors.People not only understand the imaging principle of mirror through the understanding of optics,but also give it humanistic spirit and aesthetic value.In this context,the image of mirror is widely used in various literatures,forming a unique thought of mirror metaphor,which has a high aesthetic value.Mirror objects and mirror images together constitute the mirror culture,which has unique aesthetic characteristics and exerts a subtle influence on the aesthetic consciousness of ancient China under the interaction with various cultural fields.In this paper,the aesthetic characteristics of bronze mirrors in the Warring States Period are studied from the two approaches of artifacts and documents,combined with the unearthed data and research methods of metallography and archaeology,with the current unearthed data of bronze mirrors in the Warring States period and the application of mirror image in the literature of the Warring States period as the main research object,starting from the Angle of mutual penetration of artifacts and images.This paper analyzes the aesthetic characteristics of the objects at the form level and the image thinking level,and discusses the unique cultural spirit carried by the different aesthetic characteristics of the bronze mirrors in different times and different regions.
