Innovative Application Of Waste In Fashion Design

With the rapid development of society and the improvement of per capita income,people’s consumption desire is increasing.More and more products are manufactured in large quantities.The fast-paced consumption and discarding has caused a large waste of resources and serious environmental problems.Among them,the amount of industrial waste is huge,far more than domestic waste,which is what designers need to pay attention to.This paper focuses on the application of waste in fashion design,which is in line with the sustainable development trend of fashion.At the same time,in recent years,under the influence of designers,artists and trendsetters,remanfactured style clothing is popular.Therefore,the author chose to study the innovative application of waste in fashion design.The author focuses on the industrial waste leather as the main research object.Take the shoe factory as an example to investigate the recycling of industrial waste leather,and analyze the feasibility of industrial waste leather redesign.The redesign methods of waste are summarized from the experiment and applied to clothing design,which provides more effective paths and specific practical cases for the redesign of industrial waste leather.The specific research contents of this paper are as follows:Firstly,the paper clarifies the relevant background of the research,combs and analyzes the existing research status and research ideas of waste redesign from the two aspects of literature and cases,draws up the research on the application of waste in clothing design and discusses the research significance.Taking industrial waste leather as an example,this paper makes an in-depth study on the theory and research,including the basic analysis on the concept and definition of industrial waste,the concept and method of waste redesign and the feasibility of industrial waste leather redesign,which provides a preliminary basis for the design experiment of waste leather.The leather scraps and waste leather shoes recovered from the shoe factory were recycled.The possibility of redesign of leather leftover materials was explored by means of three-dimensional splicing and plug-in combination;Combining the shoe upper with the clothing design,the experiment was carried out from the two aspects of modeling and technology to provide a variety of treatment methods for the reuse of waste leather.In the practice part,two series of designs of shoe upper reconstituted clothing and bag were completed,and the design idea and creative process from the experimental prototype to the complete finished product were expounded.This study provides more design ideas and method guidance for waste redesign.At the same time,it points out that the innovative application of waste in clothing design is of great significance to sustainable fashion and trend,and makes assumptions and prospects for further research in the future.
