| With the intensification of global climate change, greatly developing green and lowcarbon industries is an inevitable choice to adapt the trend of green transformation in the new era and advance the concept of green and high-quality development. In response to global climate change, the report of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly pointed out that promoting economic development characterized by greening and low-carbon is the key link to achieve high-quality development, and actively and steadily promote "carbon peak" and "carbon neutrality".In the context of the country’s active implementation of the "dual carbon" goal, the development of low-carbon industries has achieved significant results, and meanwhile, relying on the rapid development of a new generation of information technology and network infrastructure, the driving role of the digital economy for the development of low-carbon industry cannot be underestimated. Therefore,it is of theoretical and practical significance to study the impact of digital economy on the development of low-carbon industry. This paper sorts out and summarizes the literature on digital economy and lowcarbon industry, and expands the research on this basis.Firstly, the concept of digital economy and low-carbon industry is defined theoretically, and the mechanism of digital economy on the development of low-carbon industry is analyzed, which provided theoretical basis for the empirical research.Secondly, based on the characteristics of digital economy and low-carbon industry, the evaluation index system for measuring the development level of digital economy and low-carbon industry development is structed respectively, and the entropy value method is used to objectively empower them, and their comprehensive development level is measured. On this basis, this paper establishes a fixed-effect model from the panel data of 282 prefecture-level cities in China from 2011 to 2019,analyzes China’s digital economy and low-carbon industry from the prefecturelevel city level, and verifies the driving role, mediation effect and heterogeneity analysis of digital economy development on the development of low-carbon industry. Finally, the accuracy of the results is ensured by testing the model for endogenity and robustness. The results show that:(1)From the perspective of the whole country, the development level of digital economy and low-carbon industry in 282 prefecture-level cities in China has shown a year-by-year upward trend from 2011 to 2019,among which the development level of digital economy has a large gap between the eastern, central and western regions, while the development level of low-carbon industry is characterized by the geographical distribution of strong south and weak north.(2)In the benchmark regression, the digital economy has a significant positive driving effect on the development of low-carbon industries, and the conclusion is further confirmed by the model endogenity test and robustness test.(3)In the test of intermediary effect, this paper finds that the development of digital economy effectively promotes the development of low-carbon industry through scientific and technological innovation, and the existence of this effect passes the bootstrap test of self-service sampling.(4)In the regional heterogeneity analysis, the positive driving effect of digital economy on the development of low-carbon industries has regional spatial heterogeneity differences, but the differences are not large, and the driving effect of digital economy on the development of low-carbon industries in the central and western regions is higher than that in the eastern regions.Based on these conclusions, corresponding policy recommendations are put forward on the development of scientific and technological innovation and strengthening regional cooperation. |
