Research On Costume Design Of Chinese Ancient Costume Fantasy Movies

Since the beginning of the new century,with the development of CG production technology,IMAX screen projection technology and digital virtual technology,the audience’s aesthetic demand for film visual presentation has increased,which also stimulated the development and prosperity of contemporary Chinese ancient costume fantasy films.In Chinese ancient costume fantasy films,costumes,as an important part of visual presentation,not only play a role in beautifying the film,but also as a special way of language expression,representing the historical background of the film,as well as the political,economic,cultural and other situations contained in it.Not only that,it also represents the historical and cultural meaning,carrying the narrative theme and the significance of the construction of the character image,both cultural and artistic value.This paper takes costume design of Chinese ancient costume fantasy movies as the research object,which is mainly divided into five parts.The first chapter mainly introduces the reason and background of the topic,the purpose and significance of the research,sorts out the relevant research of Chinese ancient costume fantasy films and the domestic and foreign research of film costumes,and clarifies the specific research methods of this paper.The second chapter mainly summarizes the costumes of Chinese ancient costume fantasy movies.First of all,from the perspectives of the history of film development and the concept of film genre,to distinguish "fantasy film" and "Chinese ancient costume fantasy film";Secondly,it studies the cultural basis of costume design in ancient fantasy movies.Finally,the paper summarizes the development and evolution of costume design from 1980 to the new century,and summarizes the development characteristics of three stages.The third chapter is about the visual presentation characteristics of the three modeling elements of film costume design,namely color,shape,and material in Chinese ancient costume fantasy movies.The color of clothing mainly explains the application of key colors in clothing and the performance of contrasting colors through the two directions of the color of traditional Chinese five elements and the difference of characters.The costume shape and system is mainly combined with the cultural system of ancient costume to clarify the basic costume shape and system of ancient fantasy movie costume,and based on the modern aesthetic analysis and transformation of modern design of Hanfu.Clothing material is mainly to explore the application of fabric and pattern performance.The fourth chapter is a synthesis of the three modeling elements of clothing,combined with representative cases to analyze the functional performance characteristics of clothing design.This paper mainly expounds how costume design demonstrates the core narrative theme meaning of "the unity of nature and man",analyzes the modeling design of fantasy characters from the perspective of "dearization" theory and "skeuomorphism",and analyzes how costume creates a poetic aesthetic conception of film from the perspective of Chinese classical aesthetics.The last chapter discusses the important problems encountered in the development of costume design for Chinese ancient costume and fantasy movies,and summarizes the development and trend of costume design for Chinese ancient costume and fantasy movies in the future,that is,diversified and modern development design paths should be developed on the basis of following the traditional costume culture.
