Objective:To describe the current situation of food safety in Zhongshan District,Dalian City,learn about the construction of food safety emergency response capacity of food-related enterprises or units,investigate the food safety KAP and satisfaction of residents within the district,and provide a basis for further building a food safety demonstration area.Methods:The situation,food safety risk monitoring,foodborne disease occurrence,and regulatory status in Zhongshan District,Dalian City were collected.On-site questionnaire surveys were conducted on food-related market entities such as outsize restaurants,fast food restaurants,snack and beverage stores,chain supermarkets,and food processing enterprises in the district.The food safety KAP and satisfaction surveys were conducted among residents in Zhongshan District by random sampling,to collect relevant data for statistical analysis.Based on the normality and homogeneity of variance,as well as the type of data,Chi-square analysis is used in the investigation of food safety emergency capacity building of food-related enterprises orunits,the t test and ANOVA were used for statistical description.Theχ±s,t test and variance analysis were used for statistical description of the survey of residents’ satisfaction,and the factors affecting residents’ satisfaction were analyzed by binary logistic regression.Results:1.Current situation of food safety in Zhongshan District:There are many types and large numbers of food-related enterprises or units in Zhongshan District,and the mechanisms for food safety risk monitoring and foodborne disease monitoring are relatively complete.However,there are fewer monitoring batches,the detection rate of pathogenic bacteria is not high,and the regulatory force is weak.2.Construction of food safety emergency capacity of food-related enterprises or units:The construction levels of different enterprises were different,and the level ranking was as follows:food processing enterprises,outsize restaurants,fast food restaurants,snack and beverage stores,and chain supermarkets.The results showed that whether food safety supervisors were assigned to the catering sector could significantly affect food safety,while educational background had no impact on the safety of food production,processing,and circulation.3.Food safety KAP for residents in the district:Among the 965 residents surveyed in Zhongshan District,the proportion of residents who frequently paid attention to food safety news and the proportion of residents who believe that they have obtained food safety-related information were 55.23%and 52.75%respectively.There were statistical differences in food safety knowledge and behavior scores among different genders,ages and educational backgrounds.4.Residents’satisfaction with food safety in Zhongshan District:The average score of overall food safety satisfaction among the 795 residents surveyed was 3.19±1.03,with significant differences among different age and income groups.The binomial logistic regression showed that there were six main factors affecting residents’ satisfaction with food safety:Residents’ satisfaction with the government’s ability to handle food safety incidents,residents’ satisfaction with the food safety regulatory system,residents’ satisfaction with the hygiene of food business premises,residents’satisfaction with the quality of food,residents’ expectations of food safety,and the frequency of residents participating in food safety-related publicity.Conclusion:There are still many problems with food safety in Zhongshan District.The government of Zhongshan District should strengthen supervision and increase investment in food safety.The food industry in Zhongshan District should further improve the food safety emergency management system,strengthen employees’ awareness of food safety-related knowledge and standards,create a good social image of food safety,and enhance residents’ satisfaction with food safety in the district.
