Folk New Year paintings are a folk handicraft for the Chinese nation to welcome the new year and pray for blessings,as well as an artistic form that expresses the people’s yearning for a better future life.They have profound cultural heritage and historical value,reflecting China’s social life,historical beliefs,and customs.They are the pioneer of Chinese folk art.This article aims to inherit and promote folk art.By analyzing classic works in folk New Year paintings,the main research object is the theme,composition characteristics,and color matching of New Year paintings.It analyzes the feasibility of applying New Year painting art to the field of daily ceramic design,and innovatively designs traditional New Year painting patterns while retaining the original meaning of New Year paintings.Design methods include extracting cultural materials,summarizing pattern shapes,and restructuring expression forms,Using ceramics as a medium and using specific colored glazes to present the style of New Year paintings in a new way provides new ideas for the development of daily ceramic design.In the end,this article takes the Buddhist theme patterns and wedding culture theme patterns in folk New Year paintings as inspiration to complete two sets of design cases: Design Case 1: Design of the "Nanhai Dashi" series of daily ceramic coffee sets;Design Case 2: Design of the "Youxi" series of daily ceramic tableware.The feasibility and practicality of combining folk New Year paintings with daily ceramics have been verified through practice,allowing people to feel the connotation and emotional value of folk culture in their daily lives.
