A Study On The Coupling Coordination Between Ecological Protection And Economic Development In China

Ecological protection is a major issue which is related to people’s livelihood,and economic is the important factor for high-quality development in China.The ecological civilization and economic construction are inseparable at any time.How to solve the problem between ecologic and economic? This is an important issue and it’s a dilemma to achieve coupling coordination.In this paper,we try to explore the coupling coordination of ecological protection and economic development,and its state and driving factors.And we constructed a comprehensive evaluation index system to count coupling coordination degree.And in this paper,we used province-level data from 2012 to 2019 to analyze it,and analyzed its driving factors through the econometric model and gray correlation model,used the GM(1,1)model to predict it.This paper’s researches indicated that:(1)The result in China was unexpected.Some aeras had not yet achieved coupling coordination and had not yet reached a coordinated level from 2012 to 2019,but there was an improving trend.Comparatively speaking,the eastern China was the best-performing area,followed by the central China,and the western and northeastern part of China were poorperforming areas.(2)The coupling coordination degree demonstrated significant global and local features.Global Moran’s I was positive and convergence features were obvious.Local spatial auto-correlation showed that: the high aggregation area gathered in the eastern China and the low aggregation area gathered in the western and northeast part of China.(3)In this paper,we selected four driving factors totally.They are all significantly related to the coupling coordination degree,and the correlation’s order from strong to weak was that urbanization,water resources,opening up and innovation.(4)According to the prediction results of this paper,the coupling coordination degree will have an upward trend from 2020 to 2024.The coupling coordination degree will increase in the eastern and central part of China,but some areas’ coupling coordination degree will decrease slightly in the western and northeast part of China.At present,China needs to promote coupling coordination of ecologic and economic and promote high-quality development by developing urban groups,strengthening the governing capabilities,improving opening up and accelerating the innovation.
