Study On The Coupling Coordination And Driving Factors Of Ecological Environment And High-quality Economic Development In The Yangtze River Economic Belt

Since the reform and opening up,China’s economy has developed rapidly and has become the second largest economy in the world.People’s life has been greatly satisfied,but problems such as environmental pollution and ecosystem degradation have also followed.The strategy of economic development at the expense of ecological environment has obviously failed in China.In order to solve the contradiction between economy and environment,China proposes to change the mode of economic development from only pursuing rapid economic growth to focusing on improving the quality of economic growth.Today,China’s economy has shifted from the stage of high-speed growth to the stage of high-quality economic development,and the ecological environment has also achieved good and sustainable development.In this context,it is of great significance for China to study the coupling and interaction between ecological environment and high-quality economic development,and establish a sustainable and efficient ecological and economic development system.Taking 11 provinces and cities along the Yangtze River economic belt as the research object,combined with the actual development of each province and city,this paper constructs the evaluation index system of ecological environment and high-quality economic development of the Yangtze River economic belt.Based on the panel data from 2008 to 2018,firstly,the entropy method is used to comprehensively evaluate the ecological environment subsystem and high-quality economic development subsystem of 11 provinces and cities along the Yangtze River economic belt;Secondly,the coupling coordination degree model is used to measure the coupling coordination degree of ecological environment and high-quality economic development,and the Arc GIS analysis method is used to analyze the spatio-temporal evolution of the coupling coordination relationship between ecological environment and high-quality economic development in the Yangtze River economic belt;Finally,the grey correlation model is used to analyze the influencing factors of the coupling coordination degree of ecological environment and high-quality economic development in the Yangtze River economic belt.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)from the time series dimension,from 2008 to 2018,the average coupling coordination degree of ecological environment and high-quality economic development in 11 provinces and cities along the Yangtze River Economic Belt increased from0.5473 to 0.5814,an increase of 6.23%,showing a steady upward trend.(2)From the spatial dimension,the lower reaches are significantly higher than the middle and upper reaches,and the middle reaches are slightly higher than the upper reaches.By the end of 2018,the high-quality coordination area was Jiangsu;well-coordinated areas include Zhejiang and Shanghai;The primary coordination areas include Sichuan,Chongqing,Hubei,Hunan and Anhui;Barely coordinated areas include Yunnan and Jiangxi;Guizhou is the general area.(3)From the perspective of influencing factors,the top five influencing factors on the whole are the forest coverage rate and the proportion of residents’ consumption level in each province in the national average consumption level,the greening coverage rate of built-up areas,the proportion of per capita GDP in each province in per capita domestic GDP,the harmless treatment rate of domestic waste and the total per capita energy consumption.The influencing factors in the eco-environmental system mainly include the total energy consumption per capita,forest coverage,greening coverage of built-up areas and harmless treatment rate of domestic waste.The influencing factors in the high-quality economic development system mainly include the proportion of residents’ consumption level in each province to the national average consumption level,the proportion of per capita GDP in each province to per capita domestic GDP The proportion of urban population in the permanent population at the end of the year and the number of urban workers participating in basic medical insurance at the end of the year.Accordingly,the following suggestions are put forward:(1)narrow the gap of coupling coordination degree between upstream,middle and downstream regions.(2)Optimize the spatial layout of the degree of coupling and coordination of the Yangtze River economic belt.(3)We will strengthen ecological and environmental protection in the Yangtze River economic belt.(4)We will strengthen interregional scientific and technological innovation in the Yangtze River economic belt.
