Research On The Coordinated Development Of Tourism Economy And Ecological Environment In Border Areas Of Guangxi

The proposed strategy of promoting the border and enriching the people brings good opportunities for the development of border areas.Among them,the border areas of Guangxi have acted effectively,the economic strength has been significantly strengthened and the tourism industry has been developed rapidly.However,at the same time,the growth of economic benefits has also triggered various ecological and environmental problems.Therefore,an in-depth analysis of the harmonious relationship between tourism and environment is conducive to the joint improvement of tourism development and environmental quality in the border areas of Guangxi.Although scholars in China have made a lot of discussions on the coordinated development of tourism economy and ecological environment at present,there is a lack of studies from the perspective of border areas.This study takes Guangxi border cities as the research object,and based on the coupling theory,system theory and sustainable development theory,the evaluation index system is constructed according to the development status of tourism economy and ecological environment of each city and the accessibility of data,which contains12 evaluation indexes of tourism economy and 12 evaluation indexes of ecological environment respectively.The coupled coordination degree model,Arc GIS10.2 and SPSS22.0 are used to empirically study the coordinated development status of the two systems in Baise,Chongzuo and Fangchenggang from 2004 to 2019,and to understand the cognitive attitudes of border tourism stakeholders towards the development of border tourism and ecology in Guangxi through field surveys.Finally,corresponding countermeasures and suggested measures are given according to the derived research results.The main findings of this paper are broadly divided into the following three points:(1)temporally,the overall development level of tourism economy in border cities during 2004-2019 showed an upward trend,and the level of ecological development was slow and fluctuating;the overall trend of coupling coordination was upward,and the gap narrowed year by year,among which the growth rate of Fangchenggang City is relatively fast,from 0.2437 to 0.8025,and Baise City and Chongzuo City are increasing from 0.4571 and 0.4322 to 0.8819 and 0.8291;(2)spatially,the spatial dynamics of the coupling coordination degree of the two systems in border cities are obvious,both transitioning from the dissonance period to the coordination period,with Fangchenggang and Chongzuo cities fluctuating more and Baise city relatively more stable;(3)in terms of tourism stakeholders,73% of tourists think that the local economic development is better,the border tourist places ecological environment and health conditions are better;about 70% of local residents and tourism-related people think that the development of border tourism has improved the living standard of their families,and that tourism development has improved the quality of local ecology and environmental protection to some extent,while increasing their own concept of environmental protection;however,1/3 of respondents still have negative perceptions of environmental changes brought about by tourism development.Based on the research findings,this paper puts forward relevant suggestions for the coordinated development of tourism economy and ecological environment in Guangxi border cities,including increasing relevant policy support to optimize the general environment for coordinated development,promoting the strategy of rural revitalization to clarify the advantages of tourism development,relying on the action of promoting the border and enriching the people to realize the development of tourism and ecology together,and based on the concept of green development to enhance public awareness of environmental protection.The study helps Guangxi border-related departments to grasp the interaction between tourism and ecological environment in time,and to formulate corresponding policies and take relevant measures on this basis.In a sense,this paper expands the theoretical connotation of domestic research on the coordinated development of tourism economy and ecological environment,complements the qualitative analysis research,and also provides a reference basis for other regions with similar development situation.
