Research And Design Application Of Hekou Style And Liu Shao Style Of Yi Ethnic Traditional Costume In Xundian,Yunnan

China is a multi-ethnic country with a long history and a large population.As the influence of different natural areas,social circles and humanity circumstance,various ethnic cultures have been formed with their own characteristics.With the acceleration of globalization and modernization,we are at the risk of the ethnic minorities’ traditional cultural dislocation or even extinction.In this process,while developing and evolving the traditional culture of ethnic minorities,It is meaningful that they maintain their original characteristics and excellent traditions.Ethnic minority culture has always been studied as an important topic of Chinese culture.Minority costumes,as the epitome of the minority’s natural areas,social circles and humanity circumstance etc,reflect the change of the minority’s ideology,the history of ethnic survival and development.The study of minority costumes is within great significance which can promote the integration of minority cultures study.Yi ethnic group,as one of the ethnic minorities in China,has a long history and splendid culture which went on to breed the rich and plentiful Yi ethnic group’s costume culture.There is a great value in a deep research on Yi ethnic costume culture.The Yi ethnic group in Xundian area is an ancient branch of Yunnan Yi branch.Due to the traffic block and the inconvenience of cultural communication,the traditional costumes of the Yi ethnic group in Xundian are well preserved as well as the ancient style of Guantou garments.Hekou Township and Liushao Township,where the Guantou clothing ornaments are rarely retained,are the most representative places of Yi ethnic group’s clothing culture.Based on the documentary investigation of Yi ethnic group’s costume culture in Xundian and the site investigation of costume culture in Zamylok Village and Liushao Village in Hekou Township,this article is aimed to illustrate and articulate the integration of costume and culture in Hekou and Liushao,influenced by nature,society,and culture.By looking backward,it is possible to find out the cultural factor which achieve the popularity of Xundian Yi costume culture up to now.The research is done mainly from the aspects of clothing category,style structures,dermatoglyphic pattern,color composition,material craft,functional significance,and so on,so that promote the thinking of current trend,inheritance and protection of traditional ethnic costumes.This article explores the design application of minority costume for nowadays.
