A Preliminary Study On The Taxonomy Of The Tribe Stenochiini From Guangxi (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae)

On the basis of checking the type specimens and the specimens named by experts,this paper takes the specimens of Stenochiini preserved in the Yan ’an University and borrowed from other scientific research institutions as the research object to carry out a systematic classification study of Stenochiini in Guangxi,and to find out the geographical distribution and faunal composition characteristics of Stenochiini in Guangxi,so as to further understand the distribution of Stenochiini resources in Guangxi.It lays a foundation for further research.This paper is divided into five chapters,and the results are as follows:1.In the section of classification,2 genera and 59 species(subspecies)of Stenochiini from Guangxi are recorded,including citation,synonym and distribution etc.,as a result,3 species are recorded to Guangxi for the first time,6 species are recorded to China for the first time and 37 new species are described(one species had published).In the end,44 species are described,368 illustrations and 47 habitus of 46 species are provided.3 new record to Guangxi: S.angustissimum Pic,1922;S.carbonarium Gebien,1914;S.medvedevi Yuan et Ren,2019.6 new record to China: S.subimpressum Fairmaire,1903;S.fissicolle Fairmaire,1903;S.crurale Fairmaire,1893;S.semidensatum Pic,1927;S.atricolor Pic,1922;S.hoanum Pic,1938.37 new species are described:Uenostrongylium merkli Liu et Yuan,2023;S.chenjuni sp.nov.;S.dalongpingense sp.nov.;S.damingshanense sp.nov.;S.fangchengense sp.nov.;S.fumingi sp.nov.;S.guangxiense sp.nov.;S.haoyui sp.nov.;S.hongqiense sp.nov.;S.huajiangense sp.nov.;S.huangi sp.nov.;S.huangningi sp.nov.;S.huapingense sp.nov.;S.jianhuai sp.nov.;S.jibini sp.nov.;S.jinxiuense sp.nov.;S.jiudongpingense sp.nov.;S.junshengi sp.nov.;S.liangtangi sp.nov.;S.linguiense sp.nov.;S.linhaiense sp.nov.;S.liwenzhui sp.nov.;S.longshengense sp.nov.;S.maoershanense sp.nov.;S.mingyuani sp.nov.;S.napoense sp.nov.;S.rongshuiense sp.nov.;S.shengtangshanense sp.nov.;S.tianlinense sp.nov.;S.tongrenense sp.nov.;S.wumingense sp.nov.;S.xiaoshii sp.nov.;S.xuezhongi sp.nov.;S.yangi sp.nov.;S.yaojiani sp.nov.;S.yuanbaoshanense sp.nov.;S.zhenxingi sp.nov.2.The features of faunistic study of Stenochiini from Guangxi as follows:(1)There are 59 species(subspecies)belonging to 2 genera in Guangxi,all of which are distributed in Oriental realm,mainly in South China region(45 species)and Central China region(35 species),followed by Central and South China region(19 species)which are distributed across two regions,and few species(2 species)are distributed in all three regions,in addition,there are abundant endemic species(46 species)with a narrow regional distribution pattern.(2)Subtropical-tropical distribution.In the zoogeographical divisions of China,the faunal composition of Guangxi Stenochiini is absolutely dominant in South China and dominant in central China.The cross-regional distribution of central China and South China occupies a relative proportion,and tends to be distributed in tropical and subtropical humid climate regions.
