| Wudaoxia Nature Reserve is located in the western Hubei region and is rich in animal resources. In order to grasp the current situation and geographical distribution of large and medium-sized mammals and ground-dwelling birds in the reserve,62 monitoring points were set up for 20 months. The species composition, habitat distribution and activity characteristics of bird and animal resources in the reserve were studied. The research results are as follows:(1)During the monitoring period of the infrared camera,a total of 1,785 independent and valid photos of wild animals were captured, including 1,279 beasts and 506 birds. After identification, there are 19 species of mammals, belonging to 7 orders and 12 families.A total of 6 orders,15 families and 38 species of birds.Of the 38 species, the top three in relative abundance of birds are: Chrysolophus pictus,Syrmaticus reevesii and Garrulus glandarius, and the top three in relative abundance of mammals are: Muntiacus reevesi,Naemorhedus griseus and Sus scrofa, among the key protected species, there are 1 national class I protected animal,8 national class II protected animals, and beasts have national class I protection 1 animal and 5national class II protected animals.(2)Among the different habitat types, birds have the highest average abundance in shrubs and grasses and the lowest average abundance in coniferous forests. The average abundance of mammals is the highest in the broad-leaved forest zone, and the lowest in the shrub and grass zone.Muntiacus reevesi and Naemorhedus griseus tend to live in broad-leaved forests, and both have the lowest abundance in coniferous forests.Sus scrofa prefer to live in broad-leaved forests and mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forests.Arctonyx collaris、Paguma larvata and Prionailurus bengalensis have more choices in broad-leaved forest areas, and the habitat choices of Tragopan temminckii and Syrmaticus reevesii are more inclined to shrubs and grasses.Animals are sensitive to human activities, and the average species richness is inversely proportional to the disturbance of human activities. The closer to the road, the lower the richness..(3)There are certain differences in the activities of wild animals in different seasons. In autumn and summer, wild animals are more frequent.Muntiacus reevesi、Arctonyx collaris、Prionailurus bengalensis and Syrmaticus reevesii have the highest abundance in summer.Naemorhedus griseus、Sus scrofa、Paguma larvata and Chrysolophus pictus with the highest abundance in autumn, and all species with the lowest abundance in winter. The daily activity peaks of the Muntiacus reevesi in the four seasons are at 16:00-18:00,6:00-8:00,16:00-18:00and 16:00-18:00.The peak activity of Naemorhedus griseus occurs at 6:00-8:00 in summer and spring,18:00-20:00 and 16:00-18:00 in autumn and winter. The peak of Sus scrofa activity in spring is 4:00-6:00,the other seasons appear in the afternoon. The peak activity of the Arctonyx collaris is 4:00-6:00 and 18:00-20:00 in spring,4:00-6:00 in summer, and 20:00-22:00 in autumn. The four seasons of Chrysolophus pictus are 8:00-10:00,8:00-10:00,6:00-8:00 and16:00-18:00.The peak of daily activity of the Syrmaticus reevesii in spring occurs at 18:00-20:00,and the peak of daily activity in other seasons is 16:00-18:00.In the comparison of the diurnal activity curves of Muntiacus reevesi、Naemorhedus griseus、Sus scrofa and Arctonyx collaris among mammals, there is no significant difference between the diurnal activity curves of Naemorhedus griseus and Sus scrofa, and the other are significantly different from each other. The diurnal activity curves of Chrysolophus pictus and Syrmaticus reevesii were significantly different. The research on the behavior characteristics of birds and animals in Wudaoxia Nature Reserve provides support for the protection and management of wild animals in Wudaoxia Nature Reserve, and also provides data support for the research on the behavior characteristics of some birds and animals. |
