Left-behind children are a vulnerable group in our society, and there are many difficulties in their growth, among which mental health problems are the most prominent.Their mental health not only affects them, but also affects the development of the country and society,so it is particularly important to improve children’s mental health.Games are a bridge to children’s heart, and participants need to cooperate and communicate in the game process to complete the content of the game. The rules and plots set in sports games have educational elements, which is one of the games to stimulate the interest of left-behind children in learning. Therefore, sports games are taken as independent variables in this study.Taking the left-behind children of grade 7-8 in Yingpan Middle School,Fengqing County,Lincang City,Yunnan province as experimental objects, this paper tries to explore the intervention effect of sports games on the mental health of left-behind children in rural areas.Based on the mental health of left-behind children in rural areas,241 left-behind children in grade 7-8 were investigated by using the mental Health Diagnostic Test(MHT)and the Chinese Middle School Students Mental Health Scale(MSSMHS).Then,241 left-behind children were filled in the Mental Health Diagnostic Test(MHT)to determine whether they had mental health problems, and the total score of each dimension of the scale >56 was considered as having mental health problems, and the final number of experimental people was 82.Then,the severity of left-behind children’s mental health was divided according to the score of single dimension of the scale. Finally, the following problems were found in the mental health of left-behind children in this study.Interpersonal sensitivity, learning problems, emotional problems, poor social adaptability, hostile psychology,self-problems,self-inferiority,stubbornness,withdrawal,and excessive dependence).Through comparative analysis of the data before, before and after the intervention of sports games in the experimental class and the control class for 17 weeks,To test the effect of sports games on mental health intervention of rural left-behind children.Research conclusions;1.Sports games have a significant effect on improving the mental health of left-behind children in rural areas; There was a significant effect on reducing interpersonal sensitivity factor, psychological imbalance factor, obsessive factor, paranoid factor, hostile factor, anxiety factor, depression factor and emotional instability factor(P<0.01).It had significant effect on reducing maladaptive factors(P<0.05).It is proved that sports games can improve the mental health level of left-behind children in rural areas.2.Sports games have gender differences in improving the mental health level of left-behind children. It has significant effect on reducing the interpersonal sensitivity factor, psychological imbalance factor, obsessive factor, paranoid factor, hostile factor, maladaptive factor, depression factor and emotional instability factor of left-behind children(P<0.05).It had significant effect on reducing the factors of obsessiveness, paranoia, hostility, depression and bad mood in boys and children(P<0.05).It proves that sports games can improve the mental health of left-behind children on the whole.3.Sports games have a slightly lower effect on the perceived learning pressure of left-behind children in rural areas(P>0.05)than other factors, proving that sports games have no obvious effect on perceived learning pressure in a short period of time. This shows that the teaching content and methods of this experiment have not played an obvious role in learning the pressure sensing factor.Research suggestions;1.Follow the physical and mental characteristics of the survivors. When arranging sports games in teaching, attention should be paid to following the rules of sports games and the physical and mental characteristics of left-behind children.Only when selecting games, more team games can stimulate children’s desire to participate.2.Respect the individual differences of left-behind children. In physical education, according to the psychological characteristics of left-behind children, reasonable design of teaching content for individual, site facilities,equipment.3.The game content arrangement and load are reasonable, shallow and deep.In view of the group sports games on the mental health indicators and psychological testing indicators of left-behind children are not obvious individual indicators, because of scientific and reasonable ampere content and load.
