With the development of new media technologies, social media based on We Chat has become popular among the public,as far as college students and their parents are concerned, changes brought about by new technologies have triggered the phenomenon of cultural feedback. The results of questionnaire analysis and in-depth family interviews show that We Chat has gradually become an important bridge for communication and gotten closer parent-child relationship while weakening parent-child conflicts. The reshaping of parent-child roles with We Chat dissemination is mainly reflected in the digital feedback of children to parents. To re-nurture the offspring’s culture,We Chat red envelopes have weaken the parent-child hierarchical relationship, and offspring participation in family decision-making.In addition, there are some difficulties in maintaining the parent-child connection, such as the difficulty of achieving respect for the offspring, the limited improvement of the parent-child relationship, the digital generation gap,the parent-child We Chat forwarding that is ignored by the offspring, and the family alienation caused by media dependence. For the above problems, the most urgent task for parents is to keep up with the development of media technology, study new technologies to narrow the digital generation gap,and at the same time, adjust their roles to give their children more independent space. For children, they should learn to set an example for the parents and be more patient with digital feedback, while reshaping the boundaries of privacy, increasing the degree of self-disclosure,and striving to make media technology a glue for parent-child relationships rather than a barrier to communication.
