A Narrative Study On The Professional Growth Of Private College Counselors

There are countless researches on the professional growth of counselors,but most of the research objects in the literature are for counselors in public schools.The professional growth of counselors in private colleges is relatively small,especially in the complex working environment of private colleges.There are very few qualitative studies on the speech and behavior changes of employees.This article adopts the method of narrative research,centering on the research theme of the professional growth of counselors in private universities,conducts in-depth interviews with the two counselors of school X,A and B,collects and organizes stories and case materials,and vividly shows the different counselors in private colleges The real professional life state of the stage reflects the professional growth process of the counselor.This article divides the professional growth of counselors into three stages: junior,middle,and senior for a segmented study.Collect the career work cases of the counselors at different stages,sort them,and narrate them in the form of stories,presenting the changes in the ideology,ethics,knowledge,and ability of the counselors at different stages,as well as the career pursuits,and show the private universities The professional growth process of counselors from elementary to intermediate,intermediate to advanced counselors,digging out the working status of private counselors hidden behind the incident,aroused deep thought.Finally,using the two counselors A and B as the index,looking at the growth of the two counselors A and B of X colleges and universities,sum up the positive factors that exist in the professional growth of counselors in private colleges,such as: the salary of counselors in private schools The salary is gradually increased,the title promotion system is gradually listed separately,and the sincere educational feelings of the counselors themselves are the endogenous motivation,which greatly promotes the professional growth of counselors.But despite so much motivation,there are still some negative factors in the process of professional growth of counselors,such as: weak professional identity,unclear duty boundaries;unsystematic professional knowledge,few vocational training platforms;lack of humanistic care,and a sense of professional belonging The weak common problem restricts the professional development of counselors to a certain extent.Therefore,this article is problem-oriented,explores countermeasures and suggestions to promote the professional growth of counselors in private schools,improves the educating status of counselors in the external environment,and enhances the sense of professional belonging of counselors;optimizes the ideological and political education environment,and clarifies the ideological and political education.Responsibilities of educating people;improve the evaluation and promotion mechanism,broaden the career development platform of counselors;create a humanized management environment based on students.Strengthen ideals and beliefs on internal factors,enhance professional identity;strengthen self-learning,improve the structure of educating people;improve professional quality,cultivate love and education feelings;innovate working methods,and enhance the appeal of ideological and political work.This will ensure the long-term development of the profession of counselors in private colleges and universities.
