In recent years, curriculum reform in China's basic education has continued to advance, and curriculum research based on "core literacy" has produced a wealth of theoretical and practical results."Cultivate the essential qualities and key abilities that students need in social life and lifelong growth" has gradually become the directional target of curriculum reform in various disciplines. In the field of art education, the study of interdisciplinary teaching and learning has become an important object of curriculum development. The interdisciplinary curriculum, with its integrative, investigative and pluralistic features, develops students' comprehensive literacy and enhances their ability to solve complex problems creatively in order to meet the development needs of society.Throughout the art textbooks currently in use at the compulsory education level, interdisciplinary courses are distributed among the four major areas of the art curriculum and account for a relatively small proportion of the curriculum. In terms of curriculum arrangement, there is a mismatch between curriculum content and students' cognitive development, and the changing patterns of knowledge types, movement skills and emotional expression in different levels of the curriculum have not yet been clearly reflected. At present, domestic research on interdisciplinary art focuses on curriculum design and practice, curriculum values, and ways of curriculum integration, but research on interdisciplinary curriculum design based on the cognitive growth of students of different levels is not yet sufficient. In addition, research and practice on interdisciplinary teaching has been carried out in different processes across the country, and the degree of interdisciplinary awareness among art teachers varies from region to region. As the reform of the compulsory education art curriculum progresses, the construction of an interdisciplinary art curriculum based on students' cognitive growth is of great significance for students' personality development and social growth. As the reform of the compulsory art curriculum progresses, the construction of an interdisciplinary curriculum based on students' cognitive growth is important for their personal and social development.Taking Nature as an example, the Art and Nature interdisciplinary curriculum focuses on students' perceptual experiences in the lower primary level,on related thinking based on perceptions in the secondary level,on independent inquiry learning in the upper primary level, and on collaborative thinking and the creative ability to solve complex problems in an integrated manner in the lower secondary level.Learning in the Art and Nature interdisciplinary curriculum is,in its entirety,a process of 'observation of nature-exploration of internal principles-reflection on nature and improvement'.Cognitive growth in the skills domain is characterised by perceptual imitation of artistic language and in-depth observation of scientific phenomena in the lower primary years;in the middle and upper primary years, the focus is on the exploration and practice of internal principles of skills;and in the lower secondary years, students' creative use is enhanced. In terms of emotional values, there is an intentional focus on students' feelings and reflections in the lower levels, and the development of empathy and empathic skills in the upper levels and beyond. The interdisciplinary curriculum is structured in such a way that it presents macro-concepts,conceptual questions,micro-concepts,core ideas and expressive assessment tasks around unit themes, pointing to students' transferable understanding of the core concepts and values of the curriculum, and in the process developing their critical, creative and metacognitive thinking skills.
