Employees' workplace deviance is usually regarded as a destructive behavior that harms the organization.However,researchers have gradually noticed that employees may violate organizational rules due to improper motives,or they may break inappropriate organizational rules due to pro-social motives.Constructive deviance refers to the behavior of employees breaking organizational norms for the noble motives of maintaining the interests of the organization and enhancing the well-being of members.Since constructive deviance can enhance organizational flexibility,help organizations quickly respond to changes in the business environment,and bring a wide range of positive impacts to the organization,researchers have had extensive and profound discussions on how to stimulate constructive deviance.Most previous studies have explored which organizational environment factors and leadership style factors can stimulate employees' deviant behaviors,but there are few studies on individual factors.According to the theory of self-determination,the intrinsic motivation of an individual reflects a person's positive potential,and is often associated with the proactive behavior of employees.Individuals with high career calling have high work identify,regard work as a calling,and pursue a sense of meaning and purpose in work.And past research has confirmed that calling has a wide range of positive effects on organizational identity,job satisfaction,and organizational citizenship behavior.Therefore,based on the theory of self-determination,this article examines the influence of employees' career calling on constructive deviance,and explores the mediating role of harmonious work passion and role breadth self-efficacy.This study adopts the questionnaire survey method,with employees of enterprises and institutions in Shandong,Jiangsu,Shanghai,Zhejiang and other places as the survey objects,and a total of 337 valid questionnaires are collected.After using SPSS20.0 and Amos23.0 data statistic software to conduct common method variance test,descriptive statistical analysis,correlation analysis,SEM analysis,and mediation effect test,it is concluded that:(1)Career calling positively affects constructive deviance;(2)Role breadth self-efficacy plays a mediating role in the effect of career calling on constructive deviance;(3)Harmonious work passion plays a mediating role the influence of career calling on constructive deviance.(4)Harmonious work passion and role breadth self-efficacy play a chain intermediary effect in the relationship between career calling and constructive deviance.The research results of this study enrich the related research on career calling and constructive deviance,and also clarify the mediating mechanism of the influence between the two.Through the research on stimulating constructive deviance,it can also guide managers to understand constructive deviance correctly and provide a reference for how to stimulate constructive deviance.
