The Internet algorithm platform penetrates into people's daily life practices and affects all aspects of people's lives.This research follows the idea of ??material culture analysis,using grounded theory to analyze the texts of the two platforms,Bytedance and Kuaishou,and describe the five aspects of self-expression of Internet algorithm platform values.The values ??of the Internet algorithm platform are not only displayed in the interaction with technology,enterprises,government,society and users,but also formed in the interaction with them.The study constructed a corresponding theoretical model to systematically explain the characteristics and formation process of Internet algorithm platform values.The study found that Bytedance and Kuaishou platforms have similar values.The biggest difference is that Bytedance focuses on showing extraordinary ordinary people,while Kuaishou is committed to decentralized display of all people.Enterprises and technology dominate the formation of values ??on Internet algorithm platforms.At the same time,values ??are also affected by non-technical forces such as economy,politics,and society,and human will is operating in seemingly objective technology.The study also found that the nine value drops that affect Toutiao's recommendation are user engagement,user interest,user characteristics,content quality,friend relationships,post age,topic popularity,content review,platform priority,etc.The algorithm recommendation used by the platform is based on "user needs" and simply considers individual needs,technological advancement and market share,which may lead to information cocoon rooms and group polarization.
