The pattern of global competition makes China’s social development an urgent need for high-level talents.In such a social environment,the research on talent growth has always been a hot topic.On the other hand,Library and Information Science is facing many challenges while developing rapidly.One of them is the development of high-level talents in Library and Information Science,and solving this problem has a major impact on the promotion of the development of Library and Information Science.Under such a circumstance,this study introduces the theory of Talent Ecology and analyze the common characteristics in their growth of this group to sum up their growth Rules to provide guidance for the growth of high-level talents in Library and Information Science.After conducting preliminary research on scientific research talents in Library and Information Science,this study bases on the identification standards of high-level talents in first-tier cities and new first-tier cities and selects professors of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program,National Special Support Plan for high-level talents and the professors who have passed the major projects of the National Social Science Fund of China in 2009~2019 in Library and Information Science as the research object.Then based on the Talent Ecosystem theory in Talent Ecology,the dimension to analyze the common characteristics of the growth of the highlevel talents is determined and this study use the common characteristics of this group to sum up their growth Rules.First,based on the aspects included in Talent Internal Ecosystem and the basic information of high-level talents in Library and Information Science,this study analyzes the Rules of high-level talents’ growth in Library and Information Science of the Talent Internal Ecosystem from the basic characteristics,educational experience,and academic career experience.The basic characteristics reflect the overall characteristics of the high-level talents in Library and Information Science,and educational experience and professional experience can basically reflect the growth process of the high-level talents so the characteristics of these three aspects can basically reflect the internal growth law of this group.Then,this study collects Chinese documents published by the high-level talents in Library and Information Science from CNKI,CQVIP and Wan Fang Data,English documents from the Web of Science Core Collection and National Social Fund Science Projects from the National Social Science Fund Project Database,to analyzes the topic of the professors.Next,this study performs keywords cluster analysis on the core journal documents in Library and Information Science in the CNKI database year by year,and analyzes the hotspots.Then,this study compares the topic of the high-level talents in Library and Information Science with the hotspots of the Library and Information Science at that time,so as to summarize the Rules of high-level talents’ growth in Library and Information Science of the Talent External Ecosystem.Finally,according to the analysis results,Rules of high-level talents’ growth in Library and Information Science is summarized from the Talent Internal Ecosystem and the Talent External Ecosystem.Based on analysis results,this study summarizes three rules of high-level talents’ growth in Library and Information Science in China.The rule of the talent internal ecosystem: Matthew Effect Rule,Accumulation Effect Rule and Teacher and Pupil Inheritance Rule.The rule of the talent external ecosystem: Comprehensive Effect Rule and The Times Creating Talents.In view of the above Rules of high-level talents’ growth in Library and Information Science,this study puts forward corresponding suggestions.Suggestions for scientific research talents in Library and Information Science:(1)Scientific research talents in Library and Information Science should strive to improve their academic level in the stage of academic literacy accumulation and enter a high-level university or scientific research institution for teaching and scientific research to seek a higher career starting point for themselves;(2)Scientific research talents should study contacting reality and following the trend of the times.Suggestions for scientific research management departments or academic institutions:(1)Scientific research management departments or academic institutions should formulate different types of talent support and introduction plans for talents at different levels;(2)Scientific research management departments or academic institutions should develop a reasonable talent evaluation system;(3)Scientific research management departments or academic institutions should guide the research content of scientific research talents in the field of library and information to meet the needs of society and the country...
