"Cloud self-study" is a learning method in which people use online video, voice, time management and other platforms or tools to supervise each other. With the closure of schools and the inconvenience of going out during the epidemic, the demand for "cloud self-study" has skyrocketed and has been widely reported by the media. This article focuses on the cloud self-study phenomenon in the learning live broadcast section of the Bilibili website, which has a large user level. This phenomenon is essentially a kind of learning live broadcast. It contains two situations. One is the live broadcast of the uploader own learning screen. The users in the live room can watch and participate in the interaction to guide their own learning, and become the same table with the uploader and other viewers in the cloud;the other is Use video conferencing software such as ZOOM and Tencent Conference to stitch together the screens of multiple people's learning together, and then display them through the live broadcast tool of the Bilibili website. In the second method, any user is not only an audience, but can also enter the video conference software to start the screen and learn with everyone through the conference room number announced in the live broadcast room, thereby forming a cloud study room.According to Couldry, the use of media is no longer the exclusive activity of the audience in traditional research, but is integrated into various social practices in people's daily society, taking root and profoundly affecting all aspects of people's lives, that is,media research. The practical paradigm shifts.Based on the perspective of media practice theory, this article regards cloud self-study as a kind of active media practice activities of young users in daily life, and analyzes and answers three questions: What is the motivation for cloud self-study behavior in the youth group? The display and organization of the practice activities of the self-study group, and the path for cloud learners to realize their identity.Through the virtual ethnographic observation of the cloud self-study phenomenon,it can be concluded that moving self-study to the cloud, from the perspective of the layout of the live broadcast room,is based on the re-engraving of the offline self-study room, and users use certain slogans, punch cards, sign in,and bullet screens.Such symbols or behaviors serve as the basis of situational construction and interactive rituals, and a certain organized cloud group at the same table has been developed. In the Internet age,the behavior of learning alone, which was originally private,is gradually being invaded by visual images. The extension of the absent body by audio and video technology breaks the limitations of physical space and creates a virtual sense of presence and learning atmosphere to meet the needs of young people to ease knowledge anxiety in the era of fragmentation, perform in front of the camera and self-discipline,get rid of mobile phones and overcome Mediated survival needs such as loneliness. From the perspective of the learner of the live broadcast,I am shooting and therefore I am studying, and there are real or imaginary viewers who are supervising and accompany me;for those watching the study live broadcast, the cloud co-table on the other end of the computer is their own.Companionship and power projection, with the help of this emotional and behavioral following, can continuously review and adjust one's own positioning and actions. The cloud self-study room group is a kind of imaginary community. They have their own unique circle boundaries and ritual norms, use emotion as the glue, and have typical subcultural characteristics.Through this kind of media practice,we can get a glimpse of the mental plight of contemporary youth groups and the contradiction in media use.
