From the beginning of the digital humanities "Project Aquinas" to the analysis of Shakespeare's works and "Dream of Red Mansions",from 3D printing technology and3 D modeling replicate Yungang Grottoes to the use of computer technology to integrate the production of visual news.The organic combination of various digital technology and humanities research is calling for a new disciplinary paradigm for digital humanities research.Now,the tentacles of digital humanities research are no longer limited to the text analysis of masters' works,and the advent of the era of reading pictures has also turned the visual research of digital humanities to follow the trend.Digital humanities research integrates a multidisciplinary background and has a wide range of research.This research borrows the "Conflict " between humanities and digital as the core theoretical framework,and uses case analysis,content analysis,and interview methods.Take the "Meishuke" of the Paper column as the overall case analysis object for distant reading,and use the Surging Visual News works from 2019 to 2020 as the specific case analysis object for close reading,and comprehensively analyze the "Meishuke" of the Paper column Visual news production.Through the interviews with the data editors of the direct practitioners of the "Meishuke" column,the research has well covered the basic elements of the visual news production team,especially the analysis of the "Meishuke" in solving the digital and humanistic "Conflict" in the visual news production.With the hope that it is a new type of digital news-the thinking and practical operation of the production output of visual news worth learning.The first part introduces the origin of visual news from the development of precise news and data news,and analyzes that the emergence of visual news is the product of the development of the digital media era and the emergence of a comprehensive environment of readers' aesthetics.Then,the production connotation of visual news is proposed: Visualization is a medium and tool serve the news information itself.Finally,it draws on theories of visual art and digital aesthetics to demonstrate the "non-splendid technique" of visualization technology as a visual presentation art applied to news production,and the legitimacy of the existence of visual news forms.The second part explores the theoretical framework of the production of new digital news from the perspective of the visual perspective of humanistic knowledge,starting from the historical development and changes of digital humanities and the application of visualization technology.In this part,three major "hedging thinking" in digital humanities research are proposed:(1)The system of digital and humanities "hedging".(2)"Hedging" from the perspective of digital and humanistic scholars.(3)"Hedging" between visual presentation and text narration.Then it discusses the integration logic of digital humanities and visual news production,that is,the visualization of digital humanities research and the "hedging" integration of humanities and numbers in visual news production,and redefines the connotation of visual news production from the perspective of digital humanities.Finally,Based on the combination of digital humanistic theory and scientific methods of information management,a structural model suitable for visual news production is proposed.The third part enters the practical analysis of the news works of The Paper "Meishuke".Through quantitative statistics of the visual news produced by its columns in 2019-2020,the following characteristics are summarized:(1)Current affairs reports are the main feature,supplemented by Humanistic care,science popularization,etc.(2)Static pictures/tables are the main forms of news,supplemented by other forms.(3)Human-computer interactive news has developed well,and news information selection has been greatly decentralized.The Paper "Meishuke" has made the following attempts to eliminate the "hedging" between numbers and humanities:(1)Information transmission is first,technical assistance is rearranged,and the visual form of presentation serves the reasonable expression of news information.(2)Weaken technical performance,lower operational thresholds,and observe the differences in news readers' digital literacy,reading preferences,and terminal use.The fourth,fifth,and sixth parts analyze the detailed performance of the visual news production of The Paper "Meishuke" from three aspects: the narrative method,technical presentation and interactive experience of "Meishuke" :(1)Humanistic thoughts As the core,embodying humanistic sentiments and media conscience.(2)With digital technology as the driving force,we should not abuse technology while innovating news production.(3)Taking human-computer interaction as the goal,recognizing that the co-evolution and development of culture and technology,media and humans is the process of digital and humanistic "fusion".In the process of journalism and communication gradually moving from traditional journalism to digital journalism,the "hedging" between humanistic cultivation and digital technology has always existed,and digital humanistic thought has given us the possibility of establishing humanities and digital "interaction".In summary,this research is an effort and attempt to comprehensively use knowledge in the fields of journalism communication and information management to improve visual news production.It not only broadens the theoretical research boundary of digital humanities,but also provides an interdisciplinary perspective for digital news production practice the operational method.
