Research On Lu Dingyi's News And Propaganda Activities

�His extraordinary life-or-death stories even moved the gods and ghosts�.During his long and tortuous revolutionary career,Lu Dingyi,a young propagandist who just graduated and harbored revolutionary ideals,stayed true to his revolutionary determination despite ups and downs in his life,and finally became a brilliant leader in news publicity of the Communist Party of China(CPC).It's fair to conclude that Lu Dingyi devoted his whole life to the CPC course with his pen as the weapon and newspapers as the armor.From the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Chinese Youth to a participant of the revision of Liberation Daily and to the longest-serving publicity minister of the central government,a variety of journalistic activities and publicity practice helped Lu gradually form his own thought on news publicity,and he developed mature thought in the process of revising the Liberation Daily of Yan'an.Lu's news publicity activities and journalistic thought have made remarkable contributions to the development of proletarian theories of journalism,the formation of the tradition of CPC newspapers,and the victory of the battle of publicity.To accurately summarize news publicity activities conducted by Lu and to explore the connotations of his publicity thought as well as the reasons and motivations behind his thought,the paper is divided into three chapters.In Chapter One,the author first straightens out the main experience of news publicity by Lu and sums up the main news publicity activities in his various periods,namely the period of Communist Youth League,�General Political Department� period,Yan'an period,and publicity minister period;next,one of the important parts of Lu's news publicity activities was to conduct specific journalistic publicity with newspapers,and therefore a research focus solely on his journalistic theories or experience as a newspaper editor is not sufficient to present the whole picture of Lu's thought,and can weaken his status in the party and even in the history of Chinese journalism.Thus,in Chapter Two,the author examines main news publicity practice of Lu in different periods,including inspiring young people to throw themselves into the fight against imperialism and feudalism;attaching importance to ideological and political work of the army;dissecting and refuting reactionary speeches;and facilitating the formulation and implementation of �Double-Hundred Policy� after the founding of the nation.Lastly,in the process of revising Liberation Daily under the guidance of the news publicity thought of Mao Zedong,Lu took the view on news authenticity as the theoretical basis to build a theoretical system of party newspapers aiming to serve the people and taking the party spirit as its core,and hence Lu developed his unique philosophy of journalistic profession and journalistic activities.In Chapter Three,the news publicity thought of Lu is discussed from four dimensions of his views: news authenticity,theory view of party newspaper,journalistic profession,and journalistic activities.
