New Manchou is a magazine founded in1939in “Changchun”, and its final issueis in1945. During these seven years, Japanese empire entered its most intensive phaseof military expansion to the world with the foundation of “Manchukuo”. Under therule of “Manchukuo”, New Manchou has a distinctive color of times on the publicityfor Japanese aggression. And it has certain representativeness among numerousmagazines at that time.This thesis is based on the articles of publicity for Japanese war of aggression inNew Manchou, and mainly discusses its “contributions” for the Japanese war ofaggression against China. And from its preachment for militarism, world war situation,and the Japanese colonial control of the puppet Manchuria country, this thesisanalyzes the characteristics of the publicity, strategies and means of New Manchou,and interprets the purpose and essence of the publicity. This thesis is mainly dividedinto the following parts:The first part is the background of New Manchou. It puts the magazine in the eraof special environment to discuss the living space and its own characteristics.The second part is titled “the ideological publicity of the war”. It mainly statesthe publicity hoaxes of “Japan and Manchou are of one heart” and “Greater EastAsiaWar”, and reveals Japanese intention of drivingAsian countries, including China intothe war.The third part is titled “the publicity of the battle”. It mainly talks about severalmajor wars which are closely related to “Manchukuo” in modern times, and theposition and attitude which of the enemy and other battlefield forces.The fourth part is titled “the economic publicity of the war”. It analyzes the waysof publicity, including inciting readers and driving people into serving for“Manchukuo” from the perspective of economy.Using the relevant theory of journalism, conclusion summarizes and organizesthe final fate, overall publicity tone and characteristics of New Manchou.This thesis concentrates on a large number of original data which is published inNew Manchou, uses positivism research method, with the multi-historical facts anddata in the “Manchukuo” period,trying to show the whole picture of New Manchou inwartime.
