In recent years,driven by policy support,specification upgrading,self-sufficiency improvement and innovative application,it is urgent to accelerate the development of domestic IP core industry,IC design industry to meet the domestic demand is imminent.This paper takes UART soft core as the research topic,summed up the IP core development process based on the design assurance guide DO-254 and the theory and principle of UART soft core,focus on the development of UART soft-core and completed its functional verification.The main contents are as follows:(1)The basic theory and related standards of IP core and security are described.The relevant hardware development standards are analyzed,such as IEC61508,ISO26262 and DO-254,and the design assurance guide DO-254 is chosen as the technical support of this topic;The V model of developing functional security chip is introduced,and through the process failure mode and effect analysis.According to the results,the loopholes in the design process are detected,and elaborate the specific analysis process.(2)Through the analysis of the development process of traditional IP core,combined with the development activities of standard DO-254,this paper summarizes the design process suitable for this topic,and tries to avoid the introduction of faults by optimizing the design process.According to the basic design requirements of function and performance of UART soft core,sort out the specific requirements,analyze the security of UART soft core,according to specific problems,compensation measures are proposed to improve the design,the functional design of its architecture,adhering to the modular design when partitioning modules,each sub-module design complete its implementation.(3)The verification of UART soft core is completed,and summarize its features.Whether the hardware HDL description is consistent with the design function description is verified,verify whether the work is comprehensive through code coverage analysis,The verification results show that the functions realized by UART soft core meet the expected requirements and passed the acceptance criteria.It is found that by standardizing and constraining the design process,errors can be effectively avoided,IP core quality can be guaranteed and development cycle can be shortened.
