Study On The Homogenization Of Local News Websites In The Media Environment

As the development trend of media convergence continues to deepen,and the pressure of competition in the online news market is increasing,local news websites have begun to try to integrate and transform their communication channels and content production,trying to achieve corner overtaking in the second half of the Internet development.However,in the process,many local news websites blindly pursued publishing channels and network traffic resources,and exposed serious homogeneity problems in content production.There were even a lot of uniform and featureless news content,which was influenced by academics and industry.Of general concern.Therefore,research on the homogeneity of local news websites has important practical and theoretical significance.This research uses "Western Net","Shaanxi Net","Xi'an Net",from January 1,2020 to December 31,2020,a total of 900 news reports as research cases,using content analysis and case study methods to analyze The homogeneity characteristics of local news websites and the news reporting framework,combined with the theory of media ecology,discuss the causes of the homogeneity of local news websites,and propose a de-homogenization strategy for local news websites.The research found that,firstly,in terms of the subject matter of the report,the subject matter of the three news websites is convergent,with information service reporting as the main focus.Second,in terms of reporting bias,neutral reports are the main ones,and positive reports are insufficient.Thirdly,in terms of reporting genre,it is mainly news and communication,and the reporting format is relatively simple.Fourth,in terms of source of manuscripts,mainly self-collected by reporters and feeds by correspondents,the phenomenon of "same manuscript from the same source" is more prominent.Fifth,in terms of sources,the main sources are party and government agencies,enterprises and institutions,and there are a large number of unclear manuscripts.Sixth,in terms of news headlines,the similarity of news headlines is relatively high,and the headline forms are mostly single headlines and actual topics.Seventh,in terms of report opinion expression,the report opinion expression is mainly based on the statement of facts,and the report characteristics and position are not clear.From this,it can be found that the three news websites have many common points in the reporting framework elements such as the subject matter of the report,the source of the news,and the reporting bias,and these common points may be the important factors that affect the homogeneity of news websites.The research results show that at the original ecological level of the media,local news websites have overlapping "niches",single profit channels,flow-oriented reporting pursuits,and the homogenization of regular news gathering and editing methods.At the ecological level within the media,there are reasons for homogeneity of media positioning and style,group-style news gathering and editing behavior,interpersonal and co-opetition relationship between reporters,and individual journalistic drafting behavior of reporters.At the ecological level outside the media,there are the lagging organization mechanism,the realistic requirements of the guidance of public opinion,the negative influence of the media acquisition and editing,and the homogenization of the external influence of other media.Finally,based on the results of data analysis and cause analysis,this study uses media positioning theory,combined with advanced cases at home and abroad,and proposes a differentiated development strategy for local news websites.
