With the continuous development of technologies such as the Internet of Things,big data processing,and artificial intelligence in recent years,the concept of ”new retail” came into being in 2016.As an important part of the retail industry,vending machines are increasingly favored by operators because their work and deployment are not easily restricted by external conditions such as location and time.Its development and expansion have become an inevitable trend.For general-purpose vending machines,domestic and foreign research mainly focuses on the realization of traditional sales actions,information statistics and remote monitoring.An ARM-based intelligent terminal for new retail applications has been designed and implemented in this thesis,supports various communication protocols,can complete basic sales actions,collect environmental data,and support remote monitoring.The main contents of this thesis are as follows:1.The deficiencies of vending machine terminals research at home and abroad is analyzed,and then the design of software and hardware for intelligent terminals according to the needs of vending machine consumers and operators is proposed,to solve remote monitoring problems,the problem of heavy design costs due to changes in demand,and improve the scalability of the terminal;2.According to the hardware design of terminal,the mainboard peripheral circuit,Ethernet circuit,watchdog circuit,I/O interface circuit,etc.,have been designed,the stability of terminal operation is ensured,and sensor interface-board to collect environmental data,wireless communication interface-board to complete data reporting,motor control and out of stock detection interface-board to complete basic retail actions have been designed;3.According to the software design,the bottom driver has been designed on the basis of embedded Linux system,completes the data collection and report of the interface-board and the data interaction between the main-board,and then the design of multi-computer communication applications has been completed based on the bottom driver,to realize the mutual communication data exchange and centralized management of multiple terminals;4.A browser/server architecture has ben used,an embedded WEB server that takes up less resources but powerful has been built,to realize functions such as remote monitoring and improve terminal intelligence.Finally,an experimental environment has been seted up to complete testing of most of the designed functions in this thesis.The results show that this design can meet the basic requirements of vending machine control and monitoring,and has application value and reference significance for further intelligent terminals design under the background of new retail.
