In today's digital world,Intelligent Transportation System(ITS)plays a very important role in every aspect of modern life.Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks(Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks,VANETs)is the combination and application of wireless sensor technology and mobile ad-hoc networks in the field of intelligent transportation. It is a self-organizing and distributed inter-vehicle communication network that uses mobile vehicles. As a node in the network,it provides communication between the vehicle and the nearby fixed roadside infrastructure. However, with the continuous advancement of vehicle self-organizing network applications, some severe challenges and problems related to user privacy and information security are constantly emerging. In the vehicle ad hoc network, the information transmission in the network is carried out through unencrypted wireless channels.Attackers can endanger the security and privacy of messages propagated in the vehicle self-organizing network by intercepting, modifying, and replaying other types of attacks. For example,an attacker can capture communication-related messages that are vital to life and modify them.If this information is changed and false information continues to be spread,it will cause traffic congestion or cause road traffic accidents, etc. This will affect the applicability of the technology and the popularization of the self-organizing network of vehicles, and may even threaten the lives of drivers and passengers. This paper proposes a new conditional privacy protection authentication scheme, which is based on Elliptic Curve Cryptosystems(ECC)and uses identity-based signature technology. This solution provides efficient mutual authentication for message transmission between the vehicle-mounted unit and the roadside infrastructure, and ensures the security and privacy of message transmission. And the solution also supports a batch verification mechanism for messages to improve the message processing throughput of roadside infrastructure. In order to further improve the efficiency of the scheme, the authentication scheme proposed in this paper does not use pairing operation and map-to-point operation.Compared with the existing traditional identity-based authentication schemes, the scheme proposed in this paper has better performance in terms of computational overhead and communication overhead.
