Vehicle Ad hoc NETwork is the most critical technology to solve dynamic information servicesin the Intelligent Transportation System and to achieve Internet of Vehicles. The research in VANETsystem provides more convinient services, but at the same time, it also brings more security risks.This paper studies the security authentication and privacy protection in VANET, and put forward anapplicable to the privacy protection of VANET anonymous authentication scheme and an anonymousauthentication model of access to trust cross-domains.Security authentication and privacy protection are the primary issuse in VANET security research,according to the obvious group characteristics of vehicle nodes in VANET, this paper brings the ringsignature and digital signcryption theory into the VANET security research areas, and proposes anapplicable to the privacy protection of VANET anonymous authentication scheme. The scheme usesring signcryption theory to accomplish anonymous authentication with less computation andcommunication costs, in the meanwhile, it encryptes messages send by nodes, protects the privacy ofnodes. The function to verify the true identity of the signature node by specified verifier is added tothis scheme, which provides more practical significance for VANET applications. Finally, theproposed scheme meets the correctness of the scheme, the anonymity of nodes’ idendtiy,confidentiality of messages, unforgable of the signature, unforgable of the signer’s identity and theconfirmatory of the signer, which is strictly proofed theoretically in the means of formal methods.Vehicle nodes’ movement is highly dynamic in VANET, which leads to resource access problemsof certification when nodes cross the trust domains. On the basis of securitydemand when vehiclenodes cross the trust domains, this paper builds an anonymous authentication model of researchaccess to trust cross-domains using CK model on the combination of Elliptic Curve EncryptionAlgorithm and Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm. The proposed model includes security keyagreement protocol and two-way anonymous authentication protocolbetween communication entities.The protocols in this model are proved to be secure theoretically under the premise of overallefficiency in VANET system in the end of this paper, by comparison with other similar scheme, theproposed model costs less computation and communication, which means it is more practical.
