Abstract/Summary:
When discussing design-related issues for the visually impaired, researchers mostly focus on the development of compensatory capabilities, such as physical disabilities, traveling alone, etc.,while the focus is still on the physical exploration of the visually impaired, ignoring the special aspects of their social adaptation.need.According to the literature discussion, the social adaptability of the visually impaired population has also been the focus of attention in the field of special education in recent years.Due to visual impairment,it is difficult for the visually impaired to understand and integrate into society through vision. For the group of blind children with low age and poor eyesight, the problem of interpersonal communication ability under their social adaptability is particularly worthy of attention. The situation of interpersonal communication in childhood has a great influence on the future development of children’s mental health. However, the existing ways of improving social adaptability have problems such as high time costs and single intervention methods. With this as the focus, the purpose of this research is to improve the interpersonal skills of blind children in the social adaptability of the school in the form of table games.Help them better integrate into campus life and enhance the sense of collective interaction and participation. The purpose is divided into three specific objectives. The first is to analyze the characteristics of the interpersonal communication of blind children at school;the second is to clarify the specific projects that affect the level of interpersonal communication of blind children, and to explore the needs of blind children’s game interaction;third,to design a model that can help the blind A board game for children to improve their interpersonal skills with classmates during school. In order to achieve the above three goals, firstly, through literature discussion, the characteristics of blind children’s interpersonal communication are summarized as the theoretical basis of the research, and the existing board game design rules are classified and selected in combination with the research objects. Then use the questionnaire to understand the development status of the blind children’s social adaptability and determine the specific factors that affect the level of the blind children’s interpersonal communication.Expert interviews are used to confirm the specific characteristics of the blind children’s interpersonal communication, and an observation checklist is established to guide the observation of the blind children’s game activities and record the high-frequency interaction performance, and conduct inductive analysis to extract design elements. In the end, user portraits and scene models were established, and it was found that the problems of blind children in collective life were mainly poor language expression and lack of expression opportunities;low interaction frequency with peers and lack of active social interaction.Extract design opportunities from them, carry out the specific design of board games, create independent expression opportunities for blind children in the game rule design, improve language expression ability, provide a stress-free social environment, and enhance the frequency of interaction.Designed touch cognitive game props that meet the physical and mental characteristics of blind children to compensate for the perception function. The main result of this research is to propose a board game design for the social adaptation and development of blind children. The social adaptability measurement verification and expert comments show that the research results have effectively improved the initiative of blind children’s language expression and participation in collective activities. It is hoped that this result can provide a reference for scholars and designers in related fields and provide the possibility for the development of games for blind children in the future.
