The Dilemma,Reflection And Improvement Path Of News Fact-checking In The Post-truth Era

In the contemporary era where everything is media,the public participates in the process of news production and dissemination,and has generated their own criteria for judging the "truth".It has become increasingly difficult to adhere to the authenticity of news,and the development of new media such as social media has led to The entire society has entered the post-truth era,and the spread and development of fake news is difficult to contain.In the post-truth era,it is more difficult to check news,and the frequent occurrence of inaccurate information and news anomie makes the public more cautious about news reports and loses confidence in the news media.Fact checking is important to ensure the authenticity of news,suppress fake news,and save the decline of the news industry The initiative has re-entered the public's vision.This article reviews the origin and evolution of the post-truth era and fact-checking from the perspective of post-modernist theory and gatekeeper theory,and is based on a total of 122 "annual fake news" selected by The Journalist from 2010 to 2020 as a research sample.Use the content analysis method to calculate the typical characteristics of the current domestic fake news,and use the case analysis method to summarize the practical dilemmas in the process of fact verification such as the ethical dilemma in news production,the dilemma of information sources under media integration,and the dilemma of verification capabilities.And by drawing on the verification spirit,verification methods and practical logic of foreign professional verification agencies to help Chinese media organizations complete conceptual reforms,institutional changes and technological innovations,and improve the effectiveness of domestic fact verification practices,so as to achieve the goal of reducing fake news and other news anomie phenomena.
