Coupling optoelectronic oscillators(COEO)have received widespread attention because they can simultaneously generate narrow optical pulses and low-phase noise radio frequency signals.How to suppress the polarization noise of the coupled optoelectronic oscillator has always been a research hotspot.This paper proposes a (?)-type polarization-stabilized coupled opto-electronic oscillator,which uses two optical amplifiers,EDFA and SOA,respectively,and conducts experimental research on the polarization-stabilized coupled opto-electronic oscillator to analyze the performance and differences of the two coupled opto-electronic oscillators.Theoretical and experimental researches are carried out around the above two(?)-type polarization-stabilized coupled optoelectronic oscillators.The main innovations and research contents are as follows:First,analyze the basic working principle of the coupled optoelectronic oscillator,and derive and simulate the generation of the mode-locked laser pulse in the coupled optoelectronic oscillator;analyze several factors that affect the performance of the coupled optoelectronic oscillator,such as supermode noise and polarization noise Wait.The principle analysis of the proposed polarization-stabilized coupled optoelectronic oscillator is carried out,and the polarization state of the mode-locked laser in the ordinary ring laser and the (?)-type polarization-stabilized coupled optoelectronic oscillator is simulated and analyzed.The theoretical simulation proves the coupling of the (?)-type structure.Polarization stabilization effect of the device.EDFA-based polarization-stabilized coupled optoelectronic oscillator construction and experimental research.1.Analyze and theoretically analyze the influence of the performance characteristics of EDFA on the polarization stable coupling optoelectronic oscillator from the loop structure;test the used devices such as EDFA optical amplifier,electro-optic modulator,optical filter,and photodetector;2.Build the laser loop,and debug and optimize the built link from the aspects of mode-locked spectrum broadband,supermode suppression,phase noise,etc.;3.The main parameters of the (?)-type polarization stabilized coupled optoelectronic oscillator based on EDFA,such as lock Test and analyze the mode spectral range,spectral contrast,output optical power,spectral supermode rejection ratio,phase noise,etc.The experiment has realized: the mode-locked spectral range is 2.5nm,the spectral contrast is17 d B,the spectral supermode rejection ratio is 68 d B,and the phase noise is lower than-117 d Bc/Hz at 10 k Hz frequency deviation.The construction and experimental research of a polarization-stabilized coupling opto-electronic oscillator based on SOA.1.Analyze the overall structure and theoretically analyze the influence of the performance characteristics of SOA on the polarization-stabilized coupled opto-electronic oscillator;the gain test of the SOA;2.Build the laser loop,and from the mode-locked spectrum broadband,super-mode suppression,Debug and optimize the established link in terms of phase noise;3.The main parameters of the SOA-based (?)-type polarization stable coupled optoelectronic oscillator,such as the mode-locked spectral range,spectral contrast,output optical power,spectral supermode rejection ratio,Phase noise,etc.are tested and analyzed.The experimental test results are: the mode-locked spectral range is4 nm,the spectral contrast is 17 d B,the spectral supermode rejection ratio is 75 d B,and the phase noise is lower than-116 d Bc/Hz at 10 k Hz frequency deviation.
