Using a detector array is a method to directly measure the energy distribution of a far-field laser spot. The method uses a detector array target plate to receive the laser spot, and the target surface arranges the laser detectors at a certain density. The treatment can obtain the spot energy density distribution. The spot data collected by the detector array is generally discrete and non-uniformly distributed, and needs to be restored by interpolation algorithms.Based on the characteristics of the Gaussian distribution of laser light intensity, this paper proposes to use Kriging method to restore the spot data.Theoretically analyzes the advantages of Kriging method in spot restoration. The basis for judging the interpolation point in the initial spot image was obtained. The calculation of the experimental variation function value was improved while ensuring the accuracy.Aiming at the restored image, the edge of the light spot was quickly acquired by using the method of binarization and boundary tracing. The upper computer software of the test system was written to complete the collection of the light spot data, the restoration image display and parameter calculation. In this paper, the Kriging interpolation restoration is performed on the initial spot image acquired by the detector array from four aspects: the technical basis of the detector array test system, the basic principle of kriging interpolation method, spot image processing, and the implementation of the host computer software. Finally, the restored images were tested by algorithm comparison and field test.
