With the development of integrated circuit technology,millimeter wave radar is more and more widely used in military,not only for its detection performance,but also for its stealth.In order to improve the stealth performance,the most effective method is to reduce the radar cross section(RCS).In addition to the traditional surface absorbing coating,the use of electromagnetic metamaterials is also a common method.RCS reduction using polarization conversion metasurface(PCM)is a research hotspot in recent years.This paper studies the application of W-band PCM in RCS Reduction.The specific research work is as follows:1.A W-band single-layer ice cream PCM structure was designed.Its polarization conversion rate(PCR)was over 90%.The RCS Reduction Performance of different PCM arrangements is studied.The designed PCM array can achieve more than 10 d B RCS Reduction in W-band.Finally,the PCM units are randomly distributed,and the influence of the number of PCM units in the code on RCS Reduction is discussed.2.A capsule type PCM structure is proposed.The PCM array can reduce the RCS by more than 10 d B in the whole W-band.By combining the PCM array with the microstrip slot antenna,the RCS of the slot antenna is reduced.By conformal PCM array and cylinder,the RCS Reduction Ability in nonplanar condition is discussed,and the RCS Reduction Effect in different cylinder radius is compared.3.A partial transmission PCM structure is designed,which is used as the upper cover plate of Fabry Perot cavity antenna after the array is formed.The feed adopts linear polarization slot antenna.Due to the polarization rotation of partial transmission PCM,the linear polarization radiation of the feed antenna is converted into circular polarization.On this basis,part of the transmission type and reflection type PCM array are combined to reduce the RCS of the antenna without affecting the performance of the antenna as much as possible.The simulation results show that this structure can obtain high antenna gain and low RCS at the same time.
