With the continuous development of UV(ultraviolet)technology and the expansion of application fields,the performance of UV imaging devices is becoming more and more important.Therefore,it is meaningful to study the imaging quality of UV devices.This paper chooses to evaluate the imaging quality of the core components of UV imaging——UV image intensifier,and a coupling of UV image intensifier and CMOS— —UV ICMOS.MTF(Modulation Transfer Function)is a comprehensive and objective parameter for imaging quality evaluation.This article designs a MTF test system for UV image intensifier and UV ICMOS to provide an effective evaluation tool.Firstly,this article briefly introduces the development and application of UV detection and imaging technology,as well as the application of MTF in various imaging systems.Then basic structure,working principle and performance parameters of UV image intensifier and UV ICMOS are explained.And theoretical basis and test method of MTF are introduced.After comparison and analysis,the slit test method is adopted and the test scheme is determined.Then,a hardware platform was built according to the technical specifications of the test system,which includes a UV imaging system,an image acquisition and transmission system,and a focus control system.Based on the hardware platform,test algorithm,and functional requirements,a supporting MTF test software was written in VC ++.It includes five functional modules:initialization,image acquisition,focus control,image processing,data calculation and storage.Finally based on the system calibration,the MTF curves that meet the requirements of the test indicators were obtained.The cut-off frequencies of the UV image intensifier and UV ICMOS were about 32 lp / mm and 18 lp / mm,respectively.The MTF curves were analyzed and compared.The MTF test standard deviations of UV image intensifier and UV ICMOS were obtained through multiple tests,which were lower than 0.02 and 0.015,which met the test repeatability requirements.In the end,the influence of ultraviolet radiation intensity on the MTF of the ultraviolet image intensifier was tested.And the test results were discussed and analyzed to provide theoretical basis and experimental guidance for the development of highquality ultraviolet imaging devices.
